Her idea: book report sandwiches! The teacher commissioned a friend to draw slices of ham, tomato, and Swiss cheese; lettuce leaves; a layer of mayonnaise, and a couple of slices of bread. On the top slice of bread, each student wrote the title and the author of the book the student had just finished reading. The project made fun out of what can be a pretty hum-drum activity.
