Be Still My Beating Patchwork Heart. Patriot's Heart Quilt Block Pattern. Block Rock'n #6 Marley Quilt Block. Contemporary Table Runner. Common Threads. Blossom Heart Quilts. Hi everyone, it’s Angie from GnomeAngel.com and it’s my great pleasure and delight to reveal the 12″ finished quilt block I designed for The Bee Hive: Ripples.
(That’s ripple, not nipples as some of us are prone to read it! Filth pots!) This pattern works well in all solids, only 2 colours, scrappy or with a little mix of everything. The repeat creates a lovely ripple effect like stones (the squares caused by the corners) being thrown into a pond. This block is all squares and half square triangles (HSTs). What you need Solid (Aqua) 12 x 3.25″ squares (or if you’re like me and you need just a smidge more wiggle room cut to 3.5″) Background (White) 1 x 4.5″ square 8 x 2.5″ squares General Information Use a quarter inch seamPress half square triangle to the dark sidePress all other seams open Hints and Tips I used a 6.5″ BlocLoc Rule to trim all of my half square triangles – it made a world of difference!

This quilt block is not scary (I promise!) , but it's actually really easy and fun. Unlike regular old applique, the fabric you choose for your appliqued shapes actually peeks through the background of the block, rather than being stitched to the top of it. This creates a cool dimensional effect, and adds interest to your quilt block. You can use this technique to reverse applique any shape, or add reverse applique to a T-shirt, and home decor projects and more! You'll Need: - 7.5" x 14.5" piece of background fabric (pink) - 7.5" x 14.5" piece of lightweight fusible (on one side) iterfacing - 7.5" x 14.5" piece of fabric for the circles, or scraps of different fabrics. - A pen and some circular objects to trace - Sewing machine, thread and scissors Block Size: 7.5" x 14.5" unfinished (7" x 14" finished... were going funky here!) Follow Along! The Amount Of Time You Save With This Folding Trick Is Insane!!

Circle of Squares Block Information. Selvedge Quilt Blocks. My selvedge quilt project is off to a slow start. Here are two nine-inch blocks, each using 19 pieces of selvedge. I've seen several approaches to sewing down the selvedge strips. I opted to layer them, like shingles on pieces of linen/cotton blend. (The weave is a little looser than all cotton and I thought it might be more forgiving for doing the precision stitching along the edges of the selvedge strips.)
