Crochet this cozy poncho to stay warm and in style. The free poncho crochet pattern is easy and quick to make, plus you can wrap and button it in different ways. The bulk of the design uses moss stitch and the rows of eyelet or buttonholes are almost the same, but with double crochet. That makes this an easy pattern to remember and work on as you watch TV or have a coffee date with a friend. The gauge for this project is 15 stitches and 15 rows to four-inches in moss stitch. This monochromatic owl basket is simple and chic with a twist. It is a generous size (28 inches around by 12 inches high) can store three full-size rolled up bath towels. This multipurpose basket is also great for storing toys in the kids rooms or the crafty odds and ends you’ve been collecting up in the living room.
Using thick and sturdy yarn, this storage basket stands up on its own and will simply collapse flat when you need to pack it away. Crochet Shoes with Rubber Bottoms. These Seaside crochet shoes with rubber bottoms come together easily with cotton yarn and a pair of flip flops.

Crochet Velvet Dotted Lines Blanket. My mom and I have been wanting to try this Bernat Velvet yarn ever since we first saw it come out and I was really excited when Yarnspirations sent us some to try out a few weeks ago.
I did lots of different practice swatches with different stitches until I finally decided I wanted to just keep it simple by using half double crochet working in between the posts. This stitch is exactly like normal half double crochet (YO, insert your hook, YO, pull through, YO, pull through all 3 loops), except you are working in between the posts of the stitches below instead of the tops of the stitches below.
Here is a short video clip if you want to see how this is done: (If you have trouble loading the video, you can also view it on YouTube.) After trying out several different stitches with this velvet yarn, my mom and I both agree that it works best with a tighter stitch and a tighter tension. The yarn is so soft and squishy and I really love how it worked up into a blanket! Materials Size J or K Hook. Backcountry Crochet Cardigan - Part 3. In the third stage of the Backcountry Cardigan, we’ll crochet the simple rectangular sleeves and finish our sweaters off with pockets and a delicate rope accent.

This free crochet basket pattern is exceptionally easy to make and uses inexpensive twine and leather to create a primitive, yet sophisticated home decor piece.
One of my favorite DIY pursuits is using mundane or utilitarian materials and crafting them into something that looks like it could be worthy of a West Elm or Anthropologie price tag. (If you love making the mundane magical too, check out this popsicle stick hexagon shelf, this “reclaimed wood” coffee stirrer wall art or these crochet slippers with flip flop soles.) The materials for this free crochet basket pattern, my friends, are about as utilitarian and basic as they come. When I happened upon this twine at Dollar Tree (yes, the dollar store!) , I knew it’s slightly rough, organic texture was destined to be lovingly woven into hundreds of crochet loops. To make the handles for your basket, simply pick up a leather belt at a thrift store–the more worn in, the better.
Beginner Striped Crochet Blanket. My daughter Nicolina is continuing her journey through crochet by designing and learning stitches at the same time.
What is awesome about this blanket is she thought she was learning the Crumpled Griddle Stitch which is alternating Double Crochet and Single Crochet. But, after she brought the blanket to me and I had a look at it, she actually was alternating Half Double Crochet and Single Crochet. No big deal at all! I just don’t know the official name of that certain stitch pattern. I really love the look though and it was a happy coincidence! (1069) Pinterest. Crochet Red Gingham Blanket.
(If you’d like to download this pattern as a PDF without ads, click here – free pattern below) I am in love again with another crochet gingham blanket!
I used a different technique to achieve this crochet red gingham blanket since I’ve had a hard time finding two shades of red that I liked. (Refer to this post about my pink crochet gingham blanket to read about shades of yarn.) Instead of using two shades, I simply combined the red and white together to make my own striped yarn. Crochet Mesh Stitch Sloth Blanket. Our dear friend Benson Shum illustrated another book called SLOTH WENT . We love making blankets to go with his books. (I’ll post the ones we have done previously at the end of the post.) This one was super fun as I had Annie help with the blanket making part. She wanted to learn the mesh stitch and I thought that would be a good look for the idea I had for the blanket. I knew that our friend Sarah at the website RepeatCrafterMe had made a sloth blanket, using a cute applique, and I wanted to incorporate the little sloth onto mine. We used Patons Canadiana yarn in the Teal and Gold colors and now that it’s all finished we really think it’s a perfect little blankie to snuggle with while reading Benson’s book to a little one. I have a whole collection of signed books to read to my future grandkids and I’m happy to add Benson’s latest.
Single Crochet: Insert your hook, yarn over (YO) and pull a loop back through the stitch, YO and pull through both loops on your hook. Size H, 5.00mm hook. Crochet Triangles Baby Blanket. Hello, it’s Hannah, I’m so excited to share the pattern for this Crochet Triangles Blanket because I really love how it turned out! I’ve been wanting to make a triangles blanket for a while, but I couldn’t figure out a stitch that would make really distinct triangles until I made my Modern Hearts Blanket a few weeks ago. This blanket is very similar in that the stitches are worked in between each other instead of on top of each other. In order to make the triangles for this blanket, I used tapestry crochet and carried yarn through the blanket so I could easily switch colors without having to cut the yarn each time.
If you look closely in the pictures you can see little bits of white peaking through the peach between the triangles. Easy Crochet Double Velvet Cowl. Hello, Hannah here. I originally made these super soft velvet cowls to try to get a head start on my Christmas gift list, but they turned out so warm and cozy I really want to keep them for myself! These cowls are a little different from our Velvet Infinity Scarves because I made them double-sided so that they would be super warm, but not so bulky. I’m sure I’m going to need them for the coming Colorado winter! Crochet Beginner Chunky Stripes Throw. Hi there! Nicolina here with another very beginner-friendly throw! Made with a warm, thicker yarn that is perfect for colder weather. I know black is a tricky color to work with but once you get the hang of the crumpled griddle stitch, it works out nicely. Crochet Velvet Buffalo Check Gingham. I crocheted a buffalo check gingham throw in velvet and I’m in love.
This will be a hard one to give away. But, it is going to a dear friend who loves black and white and I’m excited for her to have it. It is warm and a bit heavy. Crochet Hygge Flower Puffs Blanket. I made this Flower Puff Blanket in Red Heart Hygge yarn which is so, so very soft and silky. The best way for me to describe is it feels like the fur of a stuffed animal. This blanket turned out medium heavy, so if you need something super warm and cozy, I would suggest this yarn. It is machine washable and dry but I lay my blankets out to dry whatever the label says.) Crochet Velvet Chandelier Baby Blanket. Hello, Hannah here, I had a lot of leftover colors from my colorful velvet twist headbands, so I decided to make a fun colorful baby blanket! When I first posted a work in progress shot of this blanket on Instagram someone said it reminded them of a chandelier and we couldn’t think of a better name for it, so that’s what we’re calling it!
