The curriculum of the college is, therefore, a blend of expected student learning objectives of intellectual development in each course, as well as in character development activities and projects. This unique blend has characterized this institution almost since its founding in 1879 under a charter granted by the Georgia state legislature. As a liberal arts community college, Georgia Military College has designed its degree programs to prepare students to transfer to senior level colleges.

As you review the materials in the academic section of the catalog you will notice that the associate degrees of the college are all based in the liberal arts through a core curriculum identical in nature and thrust with almost every college in the United States. Faculty Workshop. Twice each academic year, the College schedules a system-wide workshop for the full-time faculty of the College.

At each workshop, the College holds meetings of the Faculty Assembly to carry out the work of the faculty. These sessions are presided over by the Vice President for Academic Affairs/ Dean of Faculty. Joint/Dual Enrollment. Georgia Military College recognizes the need to provide academically talented high school students with opportunities for acceleration of their formal academic programs.

Joint/Dual Enrollment

This recognition has led to the development of two organized programs: (1) a joint/dual enrollment program in which the student, while continuing his/her enrollment in high school as a junior or senior, enrolls in courses for college credit; and (2) an early admission program in which the student enrolls as a full-time student following completion of the junior year in high school. As a Florida Keys Community College student, you have options as to where you would like to continue your academic career. The State of Florida already has an articulation agreement between community colleges and the eleven State universities (6A-10.024). This agreement states that any student who graduates with an A.A.
