To be blunt, I was expecting scorpions and other interesting bugs in skewers emitting that exotic smoky aroma all through the town. There weren’t any! And I was quite disappointed. The prawns up close. There were also squid in skewer sticks that you can buy and just nibble along. Thailand is a seafood paradise, especially if you visit the coastal towns but unfortunately I am such a drag because I am allergic to seafood (except fish) so no prawns or squid for me. Earlier, we had a big seafood dinner by the sea and we were all stuffed but somehow, I found a way to squeeze in this local street desert called “Banana Rotee” – it’s a ripe banana wrapped in crepe like thin paper with condensed milk.
