In fact I am often quoted as saying that my works will long outlive all our descendents, aiming for the highest possible print, mount and framing execution standards. The same principle lies deep in this design, fabricated from SAE 304 Stainless Steel and Australian Iron wood otherwise known as the 'Widow Maker' tree for its capacity to cause fatal injuries to those unfortunate enough to be tasked with felling the trees. Important words by Lizzy Hajos. Lizzy Worby London- artist Alexander James is praised for creating painterly resonant photographic pictures. Alexander James's painting by Lizzy Worby, London- based artist Alexander James, is praised for creating visual photographs with a painterly quality. James not only tries to ' jump the boundaries ' of creative categorization, but creates a sense of primary meaning and ambiguity that photography sometimes appears to lose or, worse, is withheld in the face of specific preconceptions-the core concern of his forthcoming show, ' The Transparency of a Dream. ' Their colors-brilliant against black- aching with the spectacular radiance of Caravaggio, the figures of James emerge from a well of destructive energy, as if from the depths of the fugitive self. Looking back at the project they were made for I am remnded of the Japanese word 'shokunin' is defined by both Japanese and Japanese-English dictionaries as ‘craftsman’ or ‘artisan,’ but this literal description does not fully express its far deeper meaning. The Japanese apprentice is taught that shokunin means not only having technical skills, but also implies an attitude and social consciousness.

The shokunin has a social obligation to work his/her best for the general welfare of the people. Water is a life force. These highly tactile, raw porcelain cups will help connect earth & water with body and they are available here. The Positive interview with Hannah Tyrell. The intimate exhibition of meticulously constructed and controlled photographic images showcases divinely James’ expert proficiency in projecting a painterly façade onto the appearance of the image. The process for each image in the show is slightly varying, though all of the photographs are unedited. James states: “I leave the editing to be done in front of the camera”. With a set of young artists, composers, writers, poets and camera operators, Alexander James will be mixing text with visual, sculpture, painting and music. In the coming weeks.
