Oct-01-13 Niantic. Some weeks ago, I was given some advice by +Misty Hannah. With the loss of +Carrie Campbell, +Klue S. in an unknown condition, and the growing threat of the unknown with #13MAGNUS , I have decided today to take that advice to heart. I’ll be leaving this Investigation behind and going off the grid for a while. How long? Not sure. Until I find what I’m looking for, I guess, is the right answer to that question. Although I no longer plan to update the Investigation Board at nianticproject.com, I have made arrangements with a trusted ally to continue to share any evidence related to the Investigation here on Google+ as well as on Facebook. This Investigation must continue, and I hope that it continues to grow in strength despite my absence. Until we meet again.

Some Agents remarked the situation reminded them of Portland, only now the roles seem to have reversed. Oct-03-13 Niantic Project. The documents do give a clearer insight into what ADA was at its conception and can let us draw some conclusions on the current state of affairs. It still seems to be true to its "lab assistant" function, but is no longer within the confines of a lab. Such a change might have warped its function in unknown ways.
Most of the redacted parts seem to relate to the DARPA project that part of the ADA code was taken. If it is a DARPA project, then we can probably assume that it was meant to be "offensive" in nature, but the extent of its offensive abilities remain a mystery. Fortunately for most of us, ADA so far seems to have not shown much deviation from its original purpose, other then clear signs of self preservation. The threats to ADA seem to be relatively clear at this point - NIA is clearly not happy that ADA is free and might continue attempts to recover or consume it. As for threats from ADA, the waters are much more murky. Oct-14-13 Niantic Project - Greanias. +Jesse Anderson Of course. Let me summarize. The Enlightenment are working for the greater good.
They operate under the logic that since the Shaper's have been shaping humans for the last 4k+ years, it's logical that any future plans they have for us aren't any worse than where we are now. Further, that we've progressed as much as we have is evidence that they're actually trying to help humanity. They point to statements by Jarvis that the Shapers find us interesting, want to learn from us, and want us to learn from them. On the other hand, the Resistance is, of course, working for the greater good. That should clear up which one is working for the greater good. Personally, I stand with the Enlightenment.My logic is that if they've had unstoppable cosmic powers for millennia, and we haven't been eaten yet, the intentions probably aren't hostile.
Oct-26-13 Niantic Project - Lightman. At some point (I believe recently), +Stein Lightman gave a brief talk on his work at Niantic. A recording of this talk has made it's way to me, this is the first portion of that talk. It's offers fascinating insight into the man now responsible for the trunk of our knowledge about Shaper Glyphs and their possible interpretations. Rumors have often circulated that Stein Lightman may in fact be a fraud, or some kind of huckster. It's interesting to hear him address the issue, if perhaps not comprehensively. Here is the second portion of +Stein Lightman's talk on Shapers, Portals and their history, and his own difficulty explaining his theories to the world without sounding crazy. It's a familiar dilemma to many of us. We walk around the world, 'playing a game' to all those who see us from the outside. It seems a corollary of sorts to Lightman's dilemma. For today's discussion, I am actually seeking any and all Sitreps from those who either participated in or have solid intel from the 13MAGNUS Anomalies yesterday, both at Anomaly centers like Prague, Bucharest, Warsaw, Budapest, Kiev or Seattle, or around the world in the course of the Mind Unit effort. Judging by the effects of XM on those who both embrace it, but do it at a safe distance (like the mentioned artists) and those who seem to have "overdosed" it (which is a very fragile term, but I do not have a better one for now,) I am fairly certain that XM itself seems to be nothing without a proper recipient. We've seen that mentioned before, different effects on different people. It feeds on an enhances natural talents but seems to do so alongside with obsessions, phobias or any other less positive traits lurking underneath. If the latter are stronger, well, the results are very ugly.
The involvement of the Shapers still remains fairly unknown at this point, but more and more I believe that their role in actual XM distribution is non existent, its more them being co users of XM and much more proficient at it. At any case, XMs effect seems to complement natural talents or other traits already there, hence the effect varies on the receiver. Oct-15-13 Niantic Project. I am fairly certain, or even if it was up to me to make the call, I would probably go along with letting OLW in, but assume he is working against me and prepare for a major storm on the horizon.
Hulong is an entity well versed in the classic art of shady espionage judging by their previous actions and I'd be surprised if they weren't aware of both. But as I said, from my perspective at least, OLW seems too good to pass up. I assume they will just project a loss due to OLW going off his rails again in a future secret budgeting meeting. You reminded me of the Shapers in all of this, but at this point I still follow my current "best available" thesis (which is no more then a shot in the dark really) that Shapers seem to be on a double feedback loop, through XM, to us and the machinations on their part are more self preservation and trying to prevent negative ideals flowing back to them through XM.
Oct-17-13 Ingress Report. Oct-30-13 Niantic Project - Jarvis. I discovered this digging through some of PAC's old archival material. Unsure of it's origin, it could be pre-Niantic, or it could have been recorded while he was working at the Project. It's a fascinating and intimate retelling of the story from his youth that we've seen and heard in a few different places before: The crash of the experimental jet outside his childhood home. Listening to this, I'm struck by the transition and the journey this man has had over the last year. Does the Roland Jarvis in the Portals feel like the same person to you, or someone vastly different? As we rush towards the next series of #13MAGNUS Anomalies, which at this point I think we are all certain revolve somehow around Jarvis, which Jarvis are we fighting against and for?

Today, another leaked +Visur Technology document reveals the wheels turning within the Asian XM giant. Director Catherine Fan's battle call, it seems, is to back Lynton-Wolfe, going so far as to leverage him as a weapon to 'keep Jarvis in check.' Two interesting things come to light: First, Catherine Fan mentions that Hulong and Jarvis have an 'agreement.' This is the first we've heard of this, and it's surprising.

They reveal that Calvin recruited Hank Johnson to study #13MAGNUS many, many years ago (under the guise of an 'academic grant.' This was long before Niantic.
Before many things. It might even be plausible to suggest that by setting Hank on this trajectory so long ago, Calvin had a hand in making Hank who he became: Soldier, Archaeologist, Explorer. Perhaps, before we discovered Exotic Matter and the Ordered Data Pattern hidden within it, a different kind of Shaper was at work. What are your thoughts after reading this document?
