Homemade Noodles (Recipe) Try out these fresh homemade noodles with your favorite noodle sauce – it will bring your noodle experience to a whole new level!
Fresh noodles are one of the most important staples in the Chinese household. In large cities, people buy cheap, fresh noodles from the market to fit cooking into their busy days. In smaller cities and rural areas, some families make and serve fresh noodles on a daily basis. You have endless options when deciding what to do with noodles. Make a quick stir-fry to serve with them; cook a hearty sauce to top them with; pour on chili oil and seasoned soy sauce to make a simple summer dish; or cook them in hot broth to make a comforting dish. Of course, you can make a very delicious meal from dried or frozen noodles, too.
A while ago, I shared a recipe for Chinese hand-pulled noodles. It might seem daunting to make noodles from scratch, but once you get the idea, you will find it very easy. This isn’t really a recipe for Linguine with Clam Sauce but more of a recipe for Clams and Linguine with Red Sauce.
I say that because a traditional red clam sauce is made by steaming pounds and pounds of clams, removing the clams from the shells, finely chopping, and then adding to a sauce. There’s not one damn thing wrong with that either, except for the scanty 20 minutes I have to get an epic family-style Valentine’s Day meal on the table.
Our little family always has a Valentine’s Day dinner together. It’s an excuse for all of us to be in the kitchen, listen to a music, and cook really great food. This year, the resident six-year-old had the say of the menu. We like to keep this dish simple and rustic by using fresh clams. Happy Meatless Monday! No I’m not a vegetarian, but sometimes I just love having a day where the only thing I fill my body with are fresh fruits and veggies, especially after a big Super Bowl weekend! Yup. My diet yesterday pretty much consisted of beer, chicken wings, cheesy dips and pizza…..uh I think my body is screaming for a serious detox, but you know what, I enjoyed every second of it! Especially the commercials.
