New toilet turns human waste into electricity and fertilizer. Scientists from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) have invented a new toilet system that will turn human waste into electricity and fertilisers and also reduce the amount of water needed for flushing by up to 90 per cent compared to current toilet systems in Singapore.
Dubbed the No-Mix Vacuum Toilet, it has two chambers that separate the liquid and solid wastes. Using vacuum suction technology, such as those used in aircraft lavatories, flushing liquids would now take only 0.2 litres of water while flushing solids require just one litre. The existing conventional water closet uses about 4 to 6 litres of water per flush. If installed in a public restroom flushed 100 times a day, this next generation toilet system, will save about 160,000 litres in a year -- enough to fill a small pool 10 x 8 metres x 2m. The NTU scientists are now looking to carry out trials by installing the toilet prototypes in two NTU restrooms. How it works. Study Shows Christmas Trees Suck Up Super Potent Greenhouse Gas Christmas Trees Absorb Methane Greenhouse Gas - Gallery Page 2. Researchers at Lund University and Stockholm University in Sweden discovered that spruces, pines, and firs are exceptionally adept at absorbing methane, a greenhouse gas that’s about 25 times more harmful as carbon dioxide.
Previous studies speculated that these types of trees actually emitted methane, but this study suggests that trees might be rising to the challenge, actually sucking methane out of the atmosphere in addition to carbon dioxide. If accurate, the study makes yet another case for protecting existing forests, planting more spruce, pines, and firs, and not cutting them down for use as Christmas trees!
Gardens-Illustrated.pdf. Kupfer-Anton - LebensEnergie für Mensch, Haus,Garten, Teich, Feld, Firma. “With copper, we discover the nature“ – that is our central theme.
Hobby gardeners, gardeners, farmers, tree nurseries or organic farmers – everybody working in agriculture is currently concerned by the effects of the overfertilisation and the use of pesticides. Therefore, they want to dissolve the pollution in water, food and seed bed as quick as possible and to cultivate again the soil in harmony with nature – with healthy plants and heavy crops. The reintroduction of copper in the biosphere offers us „living water & living food“ in a simple way.
Copper Tools and the Legacy of Viktor Schauberger. By Jane Cobbald Copper garden tools have been available in the UK since 2001, but don’t be surprised if you haven’t heard of them.
One of the things I’ve learnt along the way with the copper tools project is just how difficult it is to get a new idea out there. In fact, the idea is very old – at least 3000 years old, back to the Bronze Age. In its most recent incarnation, the idea started with an extraordinary Austrian inventor, a forester and visionary called Viktor Schauberger. Agriculture and forestry. A Pinkhouse is a new type of indoor farm that grows crops using pink-colored light. Rather than bathing plants with white light (which has all the colors of the spectrum), a Pinkhouse uses a mix of red and blue light. By not using all the other colors, indoor vertical farms can cut down on their power bill with low-energy LED lights that emit just the right shade of magenta. To grow sufficient quantities of food and produce in an indoor farm, crops have to be stacked. But this also means that each shelf has to have its own light source in order for the plants to grow.
