Removing three demerit points from an Alberta driver's license requires the completion of a 6-hour online defensive driving course, which the Alberta government has approved. The reduction in demerit points requires a passing grade of at least 80% on the final exam. This program includes audio, video, and interactive exercises. The comprehensive driving course mentioned earlier has been approved for demerit reduction. The safer System, a defensive driving curriculum that our Calgary-based defensive driving school has trademarked, is taught through this program. A government Notice of Completion form will be mailed to you within seven business days. Take your Notice of Completion form and program completion certificate, and visit an Alberta regional registry office. Albertans are eligible for a 3 demerit reduction every 2 years.
