Interior design of Le MISTRAL - gift shop dealing with European sundry articles. In a retail space stacking many goods - having various colors and shapes, "ways of display" determine an impression of the space to a great degree. So, I spread a white-guide-grid for display over the space, and made as it is "ornament" of interior.

Using auxiliary lines drawn out by existing building frame, I laid it all out to pass the white line 15mm wide to every detail such as outlines of furnitures and fixtures, shelf boards, table legs, and door frames. Base color behind of guide-grid is navy - it is signature color of the shop. It has a role tightening the space as background of articles, but wood-grain remained by permeable paint and decoration of moulding makes classic and warm nuance. Trays of varied sizes on the shelves can place on the island-table having ladder pattern. Its pattern is drawn to fit to each trays. The space expression alters at random by changing places of trays.

HomeAdore : 2 Holland Grove Terrace by ... 2 Holland Grove Terrace by A D Lab. Situated in Singapore, this modern two-storey residence was designed in 2013 by A D LAB Pte Ltd. Description by A D Lab Having constructed their house themselves over 25 years prior, the clients were somewhat reluctant to tear down the unassuming bungalow that had been a repository for so many memories throughout the years of raising their family.

In order to make their plot of land sustainable for the next phase of their lives, however, they decided to replace the existing house with two semi detached houses where their eldest son and his family could be next to them as well as a separate apartment for their youngest son. The designers at A D Lab were sensitive to the emotional bond the clients had to their Holland Grove home and proposed a design that echoed both in form and spatial relationship the existing bungalow in order to facilitate the transference of experience and collective memory from the old to the new houses. A courtyard garden divides the two sides of this concrete house in Vienna, which has been squeezed onto a plot just five metres wide by local architecture studio Caramel (+ slideshow).

Located on the outskirts of the Austrian capital, CJ5 House was designed by Caramel to provide both a home and a workspace for a family. The architects had to limit the height of the property to two storeys to meet local planning regulations, but were able to stretch it back to cover the entire 35 metre-long plot. This created a garden at the centre of the house rather than in the leftover space. The garden features a sunken seating area at its centre and a first-floor balcony around its perimeter. It is fronted by full-height glazing, making it entirely visible to residents sitting down in the living room, or working in the office at the rear.

A sheltered corridor leads along one edge of the garden to meet the separate office space at the rear, also fronted by glass. Photography is by Hertha Hurnaus. HomeAdore : Victor Hugo Apartment by Fabrice ... Victor Hugo Apartment by Fabrice Ausset. Spacious eclectic apartment situated in Paris, France designed by Fabrice Ausset.

Description by Fabrice Ausset This Parisian apartment is respresentative of Fabrice Ausset’s taste for eclectic decor created with stylistic freedom. Subtlety of materials and colors, harmonious combination of styles, regardless of fashion, these were the watchwords of the architect during the renovation of this Parisian apartment . There is a very inspiring interior design work in this setting, reminiscent of a “cabinet de curiosités” where heterogeneous objects of art coexist! Intuitive, Fabrice Ausset drew furniture, he bought and often ordered unique pieces or limited series. Admittedly, the interior designer is the owner, and knows what he wants.

Control of taste and ease of design set the peculiar tone to this eclectic, luxurious and unique decor. HomeAdore : Sleepy Hollow Residence by ... Sleepy Hollow Residence by House + House Architects. Designed by House + House Architects, this 3,500 square foot two-storey residence is perched on a southern slope in Marin County, California. Description by House + House Architects Perched on a southern slope in Marin County with spectacular views to Mount Tamalpias, this new 3,500 square foot home gently embraces its site. To take advantage of the site’s limited flat area the two story home is pushed into the hillside to provide a level entry garden/courtyard.

A colored concrete walkway leads from the detached garage through the landscaped entry garden to the front door. At the upper level the living, dining, kitchen, and master suite have wide expanses of glass to the mountain views, spilling onto decks with perforated steel railings. Tightly spaced cedar siding stained natural and integrally colored charcoal stucco form distinctive elements that layer against one another in contrasting textures and colors. Francesco marescotti. 1111 Lincoln Road, Miami. 1111 Lincoln Road is a parking garage in the South Beach section of Miami Beach, Florida, designed by the internationally known Swiss architectural firm of Herzog & de Meuron. It is located at the western end of the Lincoln Road Mall at the intersection with Alton Road, and can house some 300 cars. Since its opening in 2010, it has attracted considerable interest because its unique appearance is different from more traditional parking garage designs. In 2005, local developer Robert Wennett bought a SunTrust Bank office structure that was from 1968 and the Brutalist style.

This included an adjacent surface parking lot. Intent upon revitalizing the western end of Lincoln Road Mall, Wennett decided not to completely eliminate the existing structure, but instead build something next to it of equal height – a parking garage. Wennett was determined to do something different, and interviewed ten well-known architects around the globe before choosing Herzog & de Meuron. Archifunkytetto : Concept store in Milan... A large shell shaped structure finds itself in the middle of the woods. It is hard to determine what exactly the structure is, and unlike the surrounding caves and rocks, it clearly is not a part of nature – nor is it a ruin. A frame, a shape, made at a completely different place for a completely different purpose. Within this shell shaped structure will one find floors constructed, wall separating spaces, and rooms furnished.

Description of mechanical system. Waterford Medieval Museum, Waterford. Waterford Medieval Museum is a new architectural landmark and major visitor destination in the Southeast of Ireland. The Museum is located in the urban quarter, the oldest part of Waterford City and at its vibrant cultural heart, known as The Viking Triangle. It houses a magnificent collection of artifacts and hosts numerous public events. A diverse range of medieval, 18th, 19th and 20th century buildings constrain the site boundaries to a U-shape with the open end facing directly onto eastern façade of Christ Church Cathedral. The objective was to design a building that would strengthen the characteristic of the historic tissue while, at the same time, creating something new and contrasting with the existing architecture.

The front façade is designed in a semi-circular, streamlined form, which is 'wrapped around' the back of the Neo Classical Cathedral, creating a link between the two beautiful squares on each side. With OMA’s latest project, De Rotterdam, Netherlands, has Rem Koolhaas found a local variation on the ‘Manhattanism’ that he explored in his landmark book Delirious New York? Rotterdam was the first European city to adopt the North American idea of an exclusive pedestrian retail zone. It was completed in 1953, following the destruction of much of the city in World War II. The city has often been an agglomeration of concepts, pragmatics and solutions that have found great success elsewhere. Its architecture seems similarly obtuse, a collection of strange forms or bold ideas.

Rem Koolhaas, through his Rotterdam-based Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA), has recently unveiled the studio’s latest offering – De Rotterdam, Netherlands. This office building sits in among a plethora of architectural objects that ratify the notion of urban agglomeration. OMA’s de Rotterdam, Netherlands building (Michel van de Kar). Reminiscence Paris Rue du Four - FMDsign - Francesco Marescotti Architecture Interior Design. Onion Skin / Olivier Ratsi. From the architect. Onion Skin is a new immersive installation by French artist Olivier Ratsi [ANTIVJ]. The first stage in the Echolyse project, which will give birth to several variations around the same concept, Onion Skin is made up of a physical dimension – a module of two walls, positioned at right angles – augmented by a projection and a 5.1 soundtrack. Onion Skin is a graphical work about the re-composition of time and space through a game of perspectives, both of the exhibition space itself and that of the projection canvas. Built around a progressive structure, made up of 4 parts lasting 14 minutes in total, the piece plays on the principle of repetition and scale to create a physical and hypnotic experience that opens doors onto the hidden and untouchable. The whole experience of the installation is based on a very specific point of view, a precise position from which a new dimension is revealed to the audience by anamorphosis.

The University wanted a learning center shared by eight departments for their ecology curriculum that has exemplary environmental performance and conserves the 55-acre Nature Preserve site. In response, we minimized the built area by creating an outdoor classroom and one open classroom indoors.

We located an assembly of elements at the boundary between the University and the Preserve. This created a gateway to the Preserve and gathering spaces for learning without impacting the pristine environment. The outdoor classroom is created by the paved area defined by the fireplace, wood storage and reclaimed wood benches. The Classroom building has been awarded the 2012 COTE Top-Ten Award and is a LEED Platinum certified building.
