Hello Kitty Granny Square Scarf Crochet Pattern. (Note: I haven’t finished putting in some of the links I mention but know that some of you want this in time to make Christmas gifts) This is a free pattern for a scarf made up of rectangles joined together and surrounded by a picot-edged border, a fun accessory for anyone who loves Hello Kitty.
Each rectangle features either a cute kitty face or a traditional granny square (modified slightly to make it oblong). It is very long. I’ve tried to bold the most information so that you have an idea of how it’s put together, but of course, at some point, I think you should read it all! At the end, I’ve also included links for a pdf of the pattern; it is shorter than these directions here, has fewer photos, more condensed instructions, and fewer explanations. I have already been informed of some errors (wrong stitch total, missing stitches, etc) and have fixed those. OK, then. Worsted weight yarn for: (Model made with Caron Simply Soft) *The finished “square” is actually not. Notes: R3: ch 1, turn. Southern Sweetness Crochet Hat by ELK Studio. Please Favorite or Queue in Ravelry!
I’m so proud to once again partner with Crochet for Cancer and design this hat in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness this month. Southern Sweetness has great texture which is perfect for the chemo patient needing something to keep them warm in the winter months that are soon approaching. I’m giving you two styles which you can see in the photo.
One is with a nice brim and the other is just a simple beanie pattern. My prayer would be that in honor of receiving this pattern for free that you would make at least one hat and donate it to a local charity or give it to someone you know fighting cancer. Recently when i came across my thrifted coat upon the racks of despair i knew i wished to make her feel welcome in my world by making her a scarf. not just any scarf but a 'woolly & warm & tres long' one one which i may wear a multitude of ways depending on the weather and the days. if you too would like to make a 'warm & woolly & tres long' scarf then here is my recipe nitty gritty: * i used 5 skeins (1 x sooty, 1 x abyssinian, 1 x canyon, 2 x nuuk) and each skein had 120 yds/110ms on it. so all together you will need approximately 600 yds of yarn if you are wishing to make your scarf not only woolly and warm but tres long * the scarf is colour blocked and i choose to use 2 skeins of one colour to create a large block of colour. you can choose to do whatever pleases your colour blocking heart :) * you can use any yarn but i would consider using one with some drape to it * finished measurement of scarf is 5.75"/14.5cm x 92"/234cm after washing * all crochet is written in US terminology.
