This is my latest personal job! It was created during the height of the covid-19 pandemic and I had to quarantine myself at my home. It was a difficult time for me when daily life was turned upside down - even my clients can no longer contact ... During my stay at home I realized a lot of precious things that before Here I have missed.

First of all, I want to thank the Corona Renderer and Evermotion teams for giving me the chance to write this “making of” article, and to thank you for the time you’ll spend reading it. My name is Olga Alekseeva and I am a freelance artist from Moscow, Russia. I’ve been working in the field of architectural visualization since the beginning of 2015. I first got involved with architectural visualization when I was studying at University and felt the need for beautiful presentations of my student projects. Initially, ‘The Lake House’ was a commercial project, but when I saw this terrain and its location near a lake on Google Maps, I fell in love with it and decided to continue working on it in my free time. The scene and all the vegetation was made during the commercial stage and offered to the client, as seen below: The client asked to crop the main image so that it wouldn’t be so wide, and so that we couldn’t see the neighboring house.

We started in this scene by adding a general fog set to 30m height which extends just above the tops of the trees. This is set to 100m fog distance which just gives a subtle depth to the image without making it too foggy as it were. The fog colour in this case is completely white rather than the 217 default. PBR, or Physically Based Rendering, is a model of shading used in computer graphics that more closely mimics the flow of light in the real world. PBR textures produce a higher quality of realness with greater variations of lighting, producing flexibility and predictability in the final product. PBR Workflows PBR texturing’s most popular workflows are specular, and metalness workflows. Supported by many 3d applications and game engines worldwide each has its unique appeal to the individual user. To create material in specular workflow you will need the following maps: Albedo (Diffuse) Map – base color input, which is the most important map, giving information about the color of the object.Specular Map – defines an object’s shininess by using a greyscale map.
