Absolutely. I will work with you to design the best possible schedule for including the locations you want while maximizing your photo time and ensuring we aren’t spending half the day in the car. This goes for engagement sessions too. Do you shoot destination weddings? I LOVE destination weddings. Do you deliver black and white photos? A small portion of the images I deliver (typically less than 5%) are black and white where I feel it better suits the image, but the vast majority of images I deliver will be in colour. Mandy and Kezia were both vocalists performing with a local group, and the two of them hit it off instantly. Since then, Mandy moved to the island, we got married and all sort of started our adult lives, but we always stay in touch with K&B and get together whenever we can when visiting the ainland. And when the two of them asked me to shoot their wedding I was thrilled. They are warm, genuine, hilarious and cultured people ( Kezia is originally from Indonesia ) and we knew their friends and family would be a reflection of that.
Further, Mandy was also one of Kezia’s Bridesmaids. They chose to have a semi-destination wedding just outside of Oliver, BC for a more intimate ( and beautiful! After a beautiful ceremony in the backyard of St. Anne’s Academy, we headed out for photos along the water by the Chinese Cemetary, followed by a visit to Mystic Vale on the edge of Uvic. Titus and Tara got married at Pine Lodge Farm in Mill Bay, a quaint and beautiful property with stunning gardens, an amazing old farmhouse, lots of space and countless cool, old structures. It was a day filled with laughter and tears, drinking and dancing, and at the end of the evening there were a few buses that came by to bring everyone to a downtown afterparty at Irish Times. This will be an ongoing series of shoots for an upcoming website redesign to showcase the instruction that Patrick and his team offer, the beautiful south island trails that we have available to us and the joy and growth that gets experienced by his clients on a regular basis.

Smoky skies from nearby forest fires weren’t going to keep us inside and the rain held off for an awesome party at The Wedding Pavillion in west Calgary. While only an 80 minute flight it still feels so totally different from home but I always enjoy my time in Calgary. Here are a few favourites. Every so often I get the chance to work with old friends, people from soccer teams, elementary or high school, past jobs, and it’s always such a blast to reconnect with people at a totally different stage of life than when I last knew them. I went to Esquimalt High School with Jesaka and Ryan, but haven’t had much of a chance to see them since high school so it was really great to catch up both during our shoot and around a fire pit with some beers this past weekend.

I’m always looking to include unique elements of my clients’ lives in their photos, so while we were planning the details for Lydia’s grad photos I was stoked when she said she boxes and wanted to do some photos at her boxing gym.
After spending some time at her gym in Esquimalt, she switched looks for the segment of our shoot out in the evening light at Elk Lake. All I can say is I wish I had grad photos like this! Hanging out with Mark & Melissa throughout the journey up to and including their wedding has been such a blast. Their engagement session up in Ucluelet was one of my favourites I’ve shot to date, and several of the images from that shoot have won some cool awards.
So naturally, their wedding on the (slightly) remote Quadra Island didn’t disappoint. The setting was absolutely gorgeous and as ever these two were so natural in front of the camera. Even amidst battling the flu on her wedding day, Melissa was a champ and powered through to make lifelong memories and stunning images. Alicia & Brandon's Wedding at Merridale Cidery in Mill Bay, BC. I had the pleasure of meeting Alicia at Amanda & Lyall’s wedding last year; She was a Bridesmaid and little did I know at the time that she had just gotten engaged a few days prior! So with her upcoming nuptuals in mind, she was paying extra attention during the whole day to all the vendors and how we worked and I’m thrilled that she contacted me shortly afterward to shoot hers and Brandon’s big day! As with Amanda and Lyall’s wedding, I had the pleasure of working alongside Chelsea from Paper Heart Films for the day who is always such a sweetheart to work with.
We started off at one of her friends’ vacation homes in Shawnigan Lake before heading up to the beautiful Merridale Ciderworks for the ceremony and reception. It was wet and chilly but Alicia and Brandon braved the cold without complaint, and Brandon even took a fall in the mud at one point. My connection to Rileigh actually goes way back, we went to the same elementary school and I was actually in a couple of classes with her older brother. But it wasn’t until my younger brother got together (and later married) her best friend that I got the chance to meet both Rileigh and her then boyfriend Kelly.
These two are make an adorable pair, and I could tell after our engagement session together that the wedding was going to be easy and enjoyable. Weather threatened us on the big day but once the ceremony started at Starling Lane the sun broke through the clouds and the rain held off for most of the rest of the day.
