QRP Labs Kits. WSJT Home Page. WSJT, MAP65, WSPR, and WSJT-X are open-source programs designed for weak-signal digital communication by amateur radio.

WSJT Home Page

Normal usage requires a standard SSB transceiver and a personal computer with soundcard. SDR-style hardware including the SDR-IQ, Perseus, SoftRock, and FUNcube Dongle is supported by MAP65 and WSPR. SimJT is a utility program that generates simulated signals for test purposes. Ready-to-run Windows versions of all programs are available for free download, and the programs (except SimJT) can also be compiled and used under Linux, OS X, and FreeBSD. For details about source code and operating systems other than Windows, see the Program Development page. WSJT ("Weak Signal Communication, by K1JT") offers specific digital protocols optimized for EME (moonbounce), meteor scatter, and ionospheric scatter, at VHF/UHF, as well as for HF skywave propagation.

Green Bay Professional Packet Radio. Green Bay Professional Packet Radio is our attempt at an advanced wireless communication research team.

Green Bay Professional Packet Radio

Based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, we have banded together a small group of specialized residents who strive for the advancement of modern forms of electromagnetic wave communication. We specialize in high-speed wireless data (packet), digital voice transmissions, ELINT/EW/ECM, radar, antenna design, bi-phase modulation and also the hardware/software side of all those types of communication. NEW PICAXE 28X1 CODE As at the date of writing (June 23rd, 2007), Revolution Education has replaced the older Picaxe 28X chip (based on the PIC16F873) with the newer Picaxe 28X1 (based on the PIC16F886) and supplies of the 28X are drying up fast.

Aerial Analyser Details

The new chip is, as claimed by Revolution Education, pin for pin compatible with the old one, but is not directly software compatible because the processor is run at 16MHz in the Analyser, rather than the default 4MHz. To use the code above with the new chip, simply add the instruction SETFREQ EM16 to the code as the very first line. This tells the new Picaxe 28X1 to run at 16MHz and no other code alteration is required. Note that chips with firmware of version A.2 (version 2) or later must be used. Search Thingiverse. It is very tragic when the news hits that ham radio operators were killed while erecting a mast or antenna. Several years ago I think some Boy Scouts were killed and some severely injured when erecting a mast too close to power lines. PROJECTS & KITS - Amateur Radio pages by M0MTJ. I have found that most of the small communications extension speakers that I have used have a harsh, resonant and 'tinny' sound that does assist in making speech especially intelligible.

PROJECTS & KITS - Amateur Radio pages by M0MTJ

Another problem is that many speakers are also quite inefficient - that is to say that they need a good degree of audio power to drive which can mean that the audio amplifier in the transceiver may be run towards its power limitations resulting in undesirable harmonic distortion or even worse, clipping distortion. To overcome the harsh, tinny audio reproduction requires the use of a larger loudspeaker drive unit. To maximise the available audio output of the transceiver's audio amplifier requires the use of a highly efficient loudspeaker driver unit.

The construction is very straightforward and should not need much explanation. M0MTJ PROJECT - DC Distribution Box with Reverse Voltage, Over Voltage and Transient Protection - M0MTJ. ANTENNAS & AERIALS 4 - Notes and Queries - Amateur Radio by M0MTJ, Antenna Designs, Multi-Band. CONCLUSIONS? Arguably the most effective, simplest and, indeed, cheapest way to attain multi-band operation is by using a full size resonant dipole for each band of interest - perhaps having a couple suspended at any one time and swapping aerials when other bands are needed. As mentioned in the introduction this is a little inconvenient which is why the holy grail of so many amateurs is one antenna that that will do everything - perfectly. As we have seen such an aerial does not exist, and never will due to those pesky laws of physics. Compromises will always have to be made; compromises of efficiency, size, number of bands and bandwidth per band etc - nevertheless there are enough options available to be able to choose a configuration of antenna or antennas that should be able to make the best use of precious transmitter power for a particular circumstance.

All the pros and cons have to be weighed up to find the best compromise for particular operating circumstances. The Bowline Knot. If you want to build a cw decoder without using other active components than an atmel 328 - Arduino UNO , then this is sure something for you. The magic in this code is the tone detection based on the goertzel formular, which means that you just put in the audio on an analog pin and then the processor make some calculations and if there is a tone you will get a magnitude value. Here is a video where you can see the decoder in function ..Hardware build by OZ2HNS for use in our clubstation OZ8SMA You can read about the goertzel formular here : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goertzel_algorithm courses.cs.washington.edu/courses/cse466/12au/calendar/Goertzel-EETimes.pdf here you can see my test setup ...A Arduino UNO board and a LCD board and then a few components ..

The scematic is VERY simple. The code can take different kinds of displays 2*16 or 4*16 or 2*20 or 4*20 ..just connect and then the code will manage when you have done the setup.. The you are ready for going .... PA2OHH SIMPLE QRP EQUIPMENT. Small projects. Tilt-Over Antenna Mast. As you can see from the table above, pipe the next size smaller is not a tight fit inside the larger pipe.

To take up the slop, I welded three beads around the circumference of the smaller pipe, then ground them down as necessary for a good fit. I overlapped the pipes about two feet and pinned them with 5/16" bolts. This worked very well and there is no wobble of the top section. The bottom 2" pipe is the full 21' length, and the top 1-1/2" pipe is about 17' long to give the total of 36' with the 2' overlap. The drawing to the left (not to scale) shows the base and some of the details of the assembly. The weight of the mast is over 120lbs, so some kind of winch is needed to erect it. More details are given with the pictures below. Welcome to The War: The Scotsman's site of web. Invisible airwaves crackle with lifeBright antennas bristle with the energy The Two by Four Tiltover Tower for VHF/UHF Introduction Consider the somewhat ad hoc VHF antenna support situation around here. Out back there is a 25' mast made of Radio Shack TV mast sections velcroed to an 8' 4x4 that used to support one of those tethered-baseball batting practice toys.

It's really scary looking, but it's held up through a couple of hurricane seasons so far. Design considerations Some while back I saw this picture on K0KP Rex Greenwell's web site of a 33 ft. homebrew wooden tower supporting a 6 meter 3 element Yagi. I've come up with a design which is somewhat derivative of Rex's.
