El mito de Perseo y “Furia de Titanes” – Revista digital de Humanidades Sarasuati / E-Journal of the Humanities Sarasuati. Dedicado a mis alumnos de 4º de ESO Habida cuenta de los deslices que, desde el punto de vista de la mitología, se introducen en el argumento de la película Furia de titanes, estrenada recientemente, no sería desaconsejable recordar algunos detalles del mito de Perseo y de la mitología griega en general.
Ante todo, conviene señalar que los titanes son los dioses de la segunda generación. Entre ellos se cuenta Crono, quien, después de emascular y expulsar a su padre Urano, se hizo con el poder sobre los dioses. Otros dioses de esta generación fueron Rea (esposa de Crono), Tetis (madre de Aquiles), Océano (dios del río circular que rodea la tierra), etc. A su vez, los titanes fueron vencidos por los dioses de la generación siguiente, llamados Olímpicos, porque establecieron sus palacios en el monte Olimpo, única posesión común, una vez llevado a cabo el sorteo en que a Posidón le correspondió el mar, a Hades el inframundo y a Zeus el cielo. Halloween es una tradición de origen celta, que llevaron los inmigrantes irlandeses en la época de la Gran hambruna, en 1840, a Estados Unidos, y que en la década de los 70-80 volvió a Europa gracias a la difusión de películas y series televisivas sobre esta temática. Es un tema que me resulta interesante, y lo voy a trabajar con los niños y niñas del Tercer Ciclo de mi colegio, así que he redactado unas lecturas y alguna actividad que quiero compartir con vosotr@s.
