MOLTEN SCULPTURAL BOWL | Art Glass Vase. Take Root This stunning, art glass vase seems to bridge different worlds: natural and manmade; earthy and refined; practical and otherworldly. The base is the gnarled root of a gamal tree. Quick growing but relatively short-lived, gamal trees are used by farmers in Indonesia as live fencing. New saplings grow in to replace the older growth, and local artisans have discovered ways to use the intricate beauty of their roots. Here, those roots are draped with a hand blown glass vessel, which takes on a unique, organic form as it cradles into the nooks and ridges of its new base. KEEPSAKE PHOTO ALBUM | Handmade Wedding Photobook. Page-Turning Memories Your memories of life's special moments were never meant to be tucked away in a box or hidden in the digital memory of your camera.
It's only when they're available to be explored and enjoyed that your favorite photos get to take on a life of their own. This standout album doesn't just sit on your shelf. It's a handcrafted, sculptural piece that makes an eye-catching accent on your counter or coffee table, inviting people to come and peruse. The album balances at an angle on a unique, "bent corner" base, which is reinforced internally with aluminum to ensure stability and longevity.
Open the book, and you'll find pages die-cut for photographs, in both portrait and landscape layout. An elastic cord holds the book closed when not in use. LuisRodrigalvarez After working as a designer for several design firms, manufacturers, and advertising companies in Madrid, Spain, Luis followed his wife to Charlottesville, Virginia and landed at Cardboard Safari as head designer. The quick success of his first design, a cardboard deer trophy, emboldened them to make more fun stuff. When not designing Luis loves to cook and share his recipes with family and friends. Having grown up in Spain, he tries to recreate the flavors of the Mediterranean in his kitchen. Luis was inspired to become an artist after working and consulting for the Spanish sculptor Juan Muñoz. He enjoyed becoming a part of the artwork through his involvement.
