IEEE 829. IEEE 829-2008, also known as the 829 Standard for Software and System Test Documentation, is an IEEE standard that specifies the form of a set of documents for use in eight defined stages of software testing, each stage potentially producing its own separate type of document.
The standard specifies the format of these documents but does not stipulate whether they all must be produced, nor does it include any criteria regarding adequate content for these documents. These are a matter of judgment outside the purview of the standard. The documents are: Master Test Plan (MTP): The purpose of the Master Test Plan (MTP) is to provide an overall test planning and test management document for multiple levels of test (either within one project or across multiple projects).Level Test Plan (LTP): For each LTP the scope, approach, resources, and schedule of the testing activities for its specified level of testing need to be described.
Use of IEEE 829[edit] Building a Testing Center of Excellence: A tutorial. Defining and delivering on software requirements can be a project maker or breaker for development teams.
In this tutorial, senior test architect David W. Johnson shares winning approaches he's learned from his work on several successful TCoE implementations. What Is UAT, And Why Do It? - What User Acceptance Testing is. Home > UAT > What Is UAT, And Why Do It?
The question of what User Acceptance Testing (UAT) is and why as a business user are you interested in it, becomes very important as you reach a stage of having a piece of software delivered to you. The system is claimed to give you major benefits, your team is already stretched running your organisation, and you can ill afford to use their time on something that may be a waste of it. So why bother? What Is User Acceptance Testing? FullCost: Column.
