ICE Agents: Morale is in the Toilet. By Todd Starnes Morale among Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents is at an all-time low more than a month after the Obama administration announced major changes to the nation’s immigration enforcement policy, according to the head of a national agency representing thousands of agents.
“Morale is in the toilet right now,” said Chris Crane, president of the National ICE Council. “Most of the guys out in the field are just in an uproar.” President Obama’s policy allows the federal government to use “prosecutorial discretion” to allow younger illegal immigrants to stay in the country and get work permits. Critics called it backdoor amnesty, but the administration said it stops short of granting illegals citizenship. “They call it discretion but it’s not our discretion,” Crane told Fox News. Crane said a case involving a veteran ICE agent is a perfect illustration. The officer refused to follow orders and is now facing a three day suspension. Crane said he is not surprised. Obama's Failed Deportations: 19 Murders, 142 Sex Crimes. The House Judiciary Committee published a report that found 36,000 illegal immigrants were arrested from 2009-2011 but not deported.
Those illegal immigrants then went on to commit 19 murders and 142 sex crimes. The Constitution? Are You Serious? The lead-up up to President Obama’s announcement that he would implement the DREAM Act amnesty, even though it had been repeatedly rejected by Congress, was accompanied by an elaborate and well-orchestrated public relations effort, which included featuring the “best and the brightest” young illegal aliens on the cover of Time magazine.
The post-announcement PR effort continues with the release of polling data carefully worded to elicit positive responses for the president’s policy. The most obvious example is a Bloomberg released a poll today that found that 64 percent of likely voters support Obama’s announcement that his administration is going to implement the provisions of the DREAM Act without it actually having passed Congress. Obama Seeks to Nullify our Immigration Laws. King Barack Hussein Kardashian Obama thinks that he gets to invent laws where they don’t exists and disregard the ones that are already on the books.
In yet another demonstration of contempt for the rule of law and the separation of powers, the Obama administration has announced that it will no longer enforce our immigration laws (not that he’s been enforcing them until now). The Washington Times broke the story this morning about a secret memo from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) that establishes new policies advising agents to release some illegals caught crossing the border. The new policy will encourage agents to suspend deportation proceedings and grant amnesty to those who ostensibly fit the criteria of the Dream Act – a bill that was defeated with overwhelming bipartisan support of Congress. Hence, the administration is publicly declaring that federal agents will ensure our laws are not executed faithfully.
