SunGlacier, una hoja solar capaz de crear hielo en el desierto. El artista Ap Verheggen, junto con Cofely Refrigeration, han diseñado una estructura con forma de hoja que se alimenta de energía solar y usa los principios de la condensación para crear hielo en el desierto del Sahara.
Tanto el artista como la compañía han logrado simular las condiciones del desierto en un gran contenedor para así probar la teoría del producto, y hasta el momento han creado 10cm de hielo. La hoja funciona gracias a los paneles solares, los cuales alimentan los condensadores y convierten la humedad del aire en hielo. Si bien el desierto del Sahara no es húmedo, en Egipto, la húmedad del aire es similar a la de Holanda, haciendo posible la realización de esta tarea en el desierto. Fuente.
