These are not very common machines -- not very many were sold and they weren't on the market for a very long time (made between 1982 and 1985), so the supply is fairly limited. When you see one, you see why they're in high demand nowadays -- they're cute! They've got that "Singer Featherweight" thing going for them -- they're simply cute little beasts! The neat wraparound case (you'll see it in a second) is almost as appealling as the machine itself. That handle is pretty cool, too.
I've seen these in a few different color schemes. At 15 pounds, this machine is easily portable. I am longing to try those Griest/Greist hemmers, the ones I see so many sets of on eBay.
(The company appears to have spelled their name both ways.) The Sewing Machine Attachment Handbook, recommended by forum members, is very useful. Pages 30-31 clearly show that there is a special attachment foot, what it looks like, and how the keyhole slot in the Griest hemmer is fitted to the attachment foot. Problem is, I can't manage to buy an attachment foot. I am not seeing them in the sets of Griest hemmers for sale. Does anyone know of a place to buy an attachment foot for Griest hemmers with a keyhole slot? Love it! Aaah my Nova 900 -- it is a sweet machine, with very groovy red trim on the handle, dials, and wheel; and the foot control is red and circular! It has Bernina's legendary precision and quality, and is a delight to sew with. I love how simple it is to use and love the sound of it as it sews -- it purrs like a kitten. When did you buy this sewing machine? When was it manufactured? Where did you buy it? How much did you pay for it? How many projects have you done on this machine? I purchased it as a backup for student use in classes. Describe the kind of work you've done with it. What do you like and what do you hate about it?
