Several common threads connect most of the artists profiled here. Haunting and Mysterious D.C. Mistress of the Piedmont Style Music and Dance. The formula to be a great Blues guitarist according to Gary Moore. In an interview with All Out Guitar back in 2007, the guitarist explained what it takes to be a great Blues guitarist. “The thing about playing the blues is that there’s nothing like experience. That’s my attitude. You tend to get better at it the more you learn it. The more you take away is a big part of it, too. Blues Enthused: Martin Barre - 50 Years Of Jethro Tull. The last time I saw Jethro Tull was ten years ago, when I drove through a filthy night of wind and snow to see them on their fortieth anniversary tour, and they opened the show with Ian Anderson and Martin Barre stage front, aptly playing the atmospheric acoustic track ‘Dun Ringill’ with its “Stormwatch brews” lyric.Nowadays of course, the pair have gone their separate ways.

As a visual artist and sculptor, he treats found objects and household materials—rocking chairs, padlocks, a charred television—with their entire history in mind. He respects their past as functioning tools of the mundane, but honors their spiritual and philosophical value as vessels of memory. As a songwriter, the Alabama native similarly builds rich compositions on the foundation of American roots music, but reshapes them into works that are beyond genre.
