Summer Schools 2016 The Debate Chamber Summer Schools offer students 15-18 the opportunity to find out more about some fascinating subjects, prepare for university applications, and experience an exciting and engaging approach to learning.
Working in small groups over several days means a real chance to get to know your tutors and fellow students. The material will be challenging (about the level of difficulty you might expect in your first year at university), but a relaxed atmosphere, with plenty of discussion, debate, and opportunity for students to shape the direction of classes creates the perfect environment for getting to grips with new ideas. Our Summer Schools are about much more than just lectures and seminars.

The Cambridge Sutton Trust Summer Schools are week-long, subject-specific residentials, where you live and study as a Cambridge student. You’ll stay in your own private student room within a Cambridge College, eat with other Summer School students in the canteens and socialise in the common rooms.
During the day, you’ll be in your academic department, where you’ll be taught by world-leading experts in your subject. But it’s not all work. By the end of the week, we hope that you’ll leave inspired by your subject, with new knowledge and skills which will stand you in good stead for your final year of school. Subject Masterclasses. Subject Masterclasses are aimed at academically-able Year 12 students from any school/college.
They are subject-specific events, which offer students a true flavour of undergraduate study and an introduction to the University of Cambridge. What are they? The Masterclasses provide students with an opportunity to explore topics of interest beyond what is covered within the A Level syllabus, and offer the chance to experience typical undergraduate teaching at Cambridge. A range of subjects are offered each year, which in the past have included Chemistry, Engineering, Genetics, Geography, History, Languages, Mathematics, Music and Psychology.
