You need JavaScript enabled to view it After a restoration completed in 2008, the romantic state-owned Snežnik Castle in Notranjska, with surviving authentic interiors, has again been open to the public. At a nearby strategic site on the edge of the Lož Valley, a stronghold was already built by the Romans. A stroll through the four floors of the castle evokes the atmosphere of more than a hundred years ago. The imposing whitewashed castle, quietly reflected in the spring water of the pond alive with bleak, trout and ducks, is surrounded by a large, partly restored park with tree-lined walks and clearings.
Today Snežnik Castle on the verge of vast pine-and-beech forests is far from noisy thoroughfares and an ideal point of departure for exploring the beautiful Karst countryside. Natural sights: Rakov Škocjan - Explore Slovenia. Rakov Škocjan is a wonderfully wild karst valley.
It was formed by Rak river, which springs from Zelške caves on one end, runs on the surface for 3.5 km and then goes underground again in Tkalca cave on the other end of the valley. The whole area is packed with karst phenomena, and a route with educational boards runs through the valley. Natural environment is incredible and the highlights of the trip are two natural bridges at each end of the valley - the "Great natural bridge" and the "Small natural bridge". A road runs through Rakov Škocjan and we can actually drive through by car and stop only at the main sights, but the beautiful nature will be best experienced on foot.

Но среди тех, кто посетил и ту, и другую, однозначное мнение было, что Шкоцянские круче. Нам тоже стало интересно сравнить обе пещеры, поэтому по пути из Любляны в Пиран мы заехали сюда. К сожалению, фотографировать внутри нельзя ( хотя несколько фото мы в конце сделали), но поверьте – это надо увидеть! Какое-то представление можно получить из фотогалереи на их сайте. Это огромный каньон реки внутри пещеры! Именно Шкоцянские пещеры занесены в список всемирного наследия Юнеско, уже это о чем-то говорит)) Первая часть пути чем-то напоминает мини-копию Постойнской Ямы - сталактиты и сталагмиты разных размеров образовывают необычные фигуры и целые композиции, а грамотное освещение придает им большей загадочности)) Общая длина пещеры - около 6 километров, примерно половинп оборудована для туристов.
Postojna Cave. Предъямский замок - обитель словенского Робин Гуда - Бегущая по волнам. Можно сказать, что именно из-за этого замка, мы вообще спланировали недельную поездку в Словению.
До покупки путеводителя, я планировала заехать сюда по дороге в Хорватию из Милана на одну ночь. А потом оказалось, что в Словении стоит подзадержаться подольше!)) Поэтому мне очень удивительно, что туристов в этом замке очень мало, даже несмотря на то, что он находится в 10 минутах езды от раскрученной Пещеры Постойнска-Яма. Но нам в отеле сказали, что скоро замок собираются снять в «Игре Престолов», думаю, тогда количество туристов увеличится в разы. А пока имеет смысл насладиться им без толп туристов! Тогда замок ещё более подчёркнуто предназначался для защиты. Австрийцы пообещали большое вознаграждение за голову непокорного разбойника. Неизвестно сколько продолжалась бы и чем бы закончилась осада, если бы не предательство. Позднее владельцем крепости стал Иван Кобензл, который в 1570 году перестроил замок в том виде, в каком мы видим его сейчас.

The museum with its permanent exhibition the Magical World of Shells opened on September 13th 2011 under the auspices of the Piran MEDITERANUM institute thanks to the biologist Jan Simič, a collector and owner of a big collection of shellfish and snails, a selection of which is shown in the museum.
Jan Simič arranged and enriched the exhibition as well as accompanied it with educational texts. He is also the exhibit’s head specialist.
