Historic Event. 3 Popular Mainstream Media Journalists Come Together & Tell The Truth About Tell-Lie-Vision. The world is changing so fast, and many people, at least in the developed world, are starting to see through corporately owned mainstream media.
They’ve been caught red handed ‘faking’ and lying about major global events on multiple occasions, and now, some of their employees are leaving their jobs and telling the truth about something that dominates a large portion of mainstream media. That being said, it’s clear that not every single thing we see on mainstream western television is a lie, but it seems that much of it is or at least has corporate and political bias’ behind it, especially when it comes to major global events like war and terrorism. Freed CIA Whistleblower John Kiriakou Says "I Would Do It All Again" From the YouTube description: In 2007, John Kiriakou became the first CIA official to publicly confirm and detail the Bush administration’s use of waterboarding.
He’s just been released from prison to serve the remaining three months of his 30-month sentence under house arrest, and joins us from his home in Virginia. When asked if he thinks NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden would receive a fair trial if he returns to the United States, Kiriakou responds, “Not under any circumstances. … I think the deck is stacked against him as it is against any whistleblower.” The Trial of Stanley L. When will Obama’s administration stop trying to send this man to jail for telling the truth about spies, nukes and Iran? If you blinked at the end of June, you may have missed one of the best pieces of journalism in 2014.
The New York Times headline accompanying the story was almost criminally bland, but the content itself was extraordinary: A top manager at Blackwater, the notorious defense contractor, openly threatened to kill a US State Department official in 2007 if he continued to investigate Blackwater’s corrupt dealings in Iraq. Worse, the US government sided with Blackwater and halted the investigation. Blackwater would later go on to infamously wreak havoc in Iraq. But what makes the story that much more remarkable is that its author, journalist James Risen, got it published amidst one the biggest legal battles over press freedom in decades – a battle that could end with the Justice Department forcing him into prison as early as this fall. It could make him the first American journalist forced into jail by the federal government since Judith Miller nearly a decade ago. Courage Foundation. Exile: Sarah Harrison On Paying The Price For Helping Edward Snowden.
James Risen's risk of prison means journalism is being criminalised. Committing an act of journalism could soon become an imprisonable offence.
New York Times reporter James Risen has been ordered to testify in the criminal trial of former Central Intelligence Agency official Jeffrey Sterling, who has been indicted under the Espionage Act of 1917 – for leaking classified information to Risen for publication in his book, State of War. Last month, the US court of appeals for the fourth circuit in Richmond, Virginia, ruled that Risen could not claim a reporter's privilege under the first amendment to win exemption from being compelled to testify. In effect, the court has ruled that the journalist must reveal his source.
