Kevin Systrom (born December 30, 1983)[2] is an American entrepreneur and software engineer, who is best known as the co‑founder of Instagram. Life and career[edit] Systrom was born in Holliston, Massachusetts, and is the son of Diane (Pels), a marketing executive, and Douglas Systrom, a president in human resources.[2][3][4] Systrom attended Middlesex School in Concord, Massachusetts, and graduated in 2006 from Stanford University with a B.S. in management science and engineering.[5] At Stanford, he was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. He co-founded Instagram in 2010 with Mike Krieger. He also founded Burbn, an HTML5-based location-sharing service.
