Google Drive - free online storage from Google on the App Store Mad Max: Fury Road [DVD] [2015]: Amazon.co.uk: Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, George Miller: DVD & Blu-ray 120-mins, No after the credits scene. The Big Bang Theory - Season 8 [DVD] [2015]: Amazon.co.uk: Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Simon Helberg, Chuck Lorre, Bill Prady: DVD & Blu-ray Seasons 1-6 of this show were brilliant, original and a must watch. The characters were unique, the scripts were funny and I hoped the show would never end. Season 7 wasn't quite as good, but it was still one of the best shows on TV. Then season 8 happened, and the BBT is now just a shadow of its past self. While Sheldon was once funny, he's now just irritating - see the first episode if you don't know what I mean. If they had increased character development, sped up the wedding and ended the show after season 8, this would've been brilliant. 8 years is a good run for a great show. I wish they'd learned a lesson from shows like Friends: end on a high point.
Game of Thrones - Season 5 [DVD]: Amazon.co.uk: Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, Lena Headey: DVD & Blu-ray If you've read my Season 4 review you'll know I've read the books and I'm a HUGE fan of the show. With that in mind, my thoughts on season 5 are torn. Firstly, the positives. All (well, most) of our favourite characters are back and on top form. Also there's an assortment of new characters to get introduced to, and we finally get to see Dorne. On a more technical point, the production is as good as we've come to expect and it's certainly still well worth watching. On the flip side, the season seemed to take a while to get going. In the grey middle between the good and bad are the book deviations.
Ant Man [DVD]: Amazon.co.uk: DVD & Blu-ray This is easily the most risky Marvel mainstream movie to date, many could say GOTG, but it had such a bonkers synopsis and narrative that it could only be the success that it was. I don't know if its because Age Of Ultron was beyond underwhelming for me, but I found Ant-Man to be one of the most refreshing, funniest, and character driven superhero movies that's not a sequel I've seen in a while. And it's the most family friendly movie Marvel has made to date. Rudd is brilliant as Lang, and the most human of all the phases characters. He has no special powers, and doesn't have the resources like Stark. But as good as Rudd is, it's Douglas who steals the film, and his scenes with Stoll are the most intense and satisfying moments in the film. It takes a while for the film to get going, in fact, the first twenty minutes feel really out of place compared to the rest of the film, and Pena really doesn't do any favours for the film, he almost makes the film become spoof like.
