LED Pocket Watch My name is Frank and this is my new website. I wanted a new website name as a company name to make personal accounting easier.

LED Pocket Watch This is a LED pocket watch. It has 12 LEDs to show the hour, 60 LEDs to show the minute, and 60 LEDs to show the second. The LEDs are arranged in three rings. There is a button on the top to activate the pocket watch, and a button on the back to change modes and settings. Works with the new iPhone 4 & 5 and more! Modifiying Sparkfun's PRT-10161 LipoCharger Lately I've been using a lot tiny lipos that can only be recharged at a very low current. I got turned onto these little fellas after finding them used in all the micro-helicopters that I've being destroying dismantling for scientific purposes. I started looking for a way to recharge these batteries so they could be swapped in and out of the aircraft and my own little inventions. I eventually found a lithium-polymer single cell battery charger from Sparkfun(PRT-10161) and followed some of their advice on how to modify it. At the heart of the charger is a MCP73831T chip that features a built-in charge management controller.

Arduino and IR Receiver A geek friend of mine told me about an idea he had to convert a cold-war era radiation detector into a audio amplifier. After hearing his plans - I took the idea a step further.First thing I needed to do was acquire a radiation detector. I found this one on ebay for a reasonable price. It was made by the Victoreen Instrument Company. VU Meter For this step you will need: -Two (2) 10-Segment LED Bar Graphs -One (1) breadboard -A few feet of 22 gauge solid wire NOTE: For this project we used two 10-Segment LED Bar Graphs for a total of twenty individual LEDs. However, using just regular LEDs, either less or more, will work perfectly fine. The Bar Graphs create a cleaner look. Though we do recommend using at least five LEDs for the desiref effect to be achieved.

Arduino Projects If a string of LEDs was fun to watch, I figured the excitement could only be multiplied with a two-dimensional grid of them, so I bought the LD788BS-SS22 8x8 LED dot matrix display from Jameco to tinker with. Most of the circuits I've seen online use the 74HC595 Shift Register with this type of display. As I had forgotten to include one in my order, it occurred to me that it might be possible to drive it using the ubiquitous 4017 Decade Counter instead, since I had a few of them lying around. I've seen several electronics kits that use this inexpensive chip for coin toss, knight rider, roulette and other applications where only one of up to ten outputs is active at any given time. With only eight rows needing to be selected individually, I wanted to see if it was possible to drive this display in multiplex fashion. The only concern was whether it could operate at a high enough refresh rate to overcome flicker.

Arduino Led VU Meter This is a tutorial on how to make a 10-led VU Meter using the Arduino. You will need: 1.An Arduino which has at least 10 digital pins and 1 analog pin, 2.A solderless breadboard, 3.10 leds, 4.10 560Ω resistors, 5.Jumper Wires, 6.Either an audio cable that you can cut to breakout the GND, left and right channels or an audio jack that you can connect wires to breakout each channel and ground. The circuit layout is below: Arduino Code: // Led VU Meter Example Universal IR-Remote USB Receiver Details Created on Saturday, 06 October 2012 16:38 Published on Saturday, 01 June 2013 00:00 UPDATE: Yay, this page got featured in Hack a Day!
