Promoting Your Resources Using Timeline Software « Information Twist I’ve been experimenting with historical timeline software recently to see if we could promote our library service resources online to our users (mostly books and online subscriptions around a particular topic area) in a different way. Historical timeline software allows the user to build a dated list of related events that can be browsed by other users. Normally our resources would be promoted by refering to them and linking back to them from our website and via our Twitter and Facebook accounts. Our aim was to include the timeline as a small project focused on the Queen’s Jubilee and her links to Surrey – giving us a narrow topic area to deal with. I had a look at a number of pieces of software before we decided upon which one to use.

Such features are essential to industries that require a more robust and rugged digital storage option to ensure repeatable and reliable operation.
An Economist Explains How Fear Drives Productivity Here’s a depressing thought: America’s productivity is rising on the backs of scared office workers. That’s essentially the explanation offered by Michael Feroli, chief U.S. economist at JPMorgan (JPM), for the 1.6 percent second-quarter gain reported Aug. 8 by the Labor Department. I asked him if there was anything in the data to suggest worker output was being spurred by improvements in technology or other investments—you know, encouraging stuff. He used a process of elimination to bring me back to earth. “First, capital deepening [an increase in investment per worker] is unlikely to be especially strong right now, given that net investment levels are still on the low side,” Feroli explained in an e-mail. As for technology improvements, “one proxy for this is the percent change in real equipment and software prices.”

How to run a problem-solving meeting This is a special sort of get together, similar to the meeting where you organize people to figure out the best way to take advantage of an opportunity. In both cases, amateurs usually run the meetings, and the group often fails to do their best work. Ignore these rules at your peril: HTML-Kit 292 Profile About HTML-Kit 292 HTML-Kit is a free text editor with a lot of features. It’s one of the more popular text editors available for Windows. It has tag completion and HTML and CSS validation and a lot of features you wouldn’t expect in free software. The only issue I have with it is that it doesn’t default to HTML, you have to convert your documents to that.
