Egyptian Hieroglyphics
© Contributed by Leanne Guenther My name is What's your name? It's true that a 7 year old can't learn all the ins and outs of Egyptian hieroglyphics! At times, different words sound the same but mean different things (for example: to and two). Also, keep in mind that the Egyptians didn't always spell from left to right. instead of It's fun to stack and arrange the letters different ways to make the nicest look. We've made our hieroglyphs very colorful, but they were often a lot more dull: Make a cartouche: A cartouche is sort of like a nametag. Arrange your hieroglyphs in this up and down manner on a piece of yellow construction paper or gold wrapping paper. You can try drawing the Hieroglyphs yourself or you can click the template links to print out pictures that you can color in and arrange on your own. Oh, and by the way.
Shaun Greenhalgh
Shaun Greenhalgh (born 1961) is a British art forger. Over a seventeen-year period, between 1989 and 2006, he produced a phenomenal range of forgeries. Teaming up with his brother and elderly parents, who fronted the sales side of the operation, he successfully sold his fakes internationally to museums, auction houses, and private buyers, accruing nearly a million pounds.[1] The family have been described by Scotland Yard as "possibly the most diverse forgery team in the world, ever". However, when they attempted to sell three Assyrian reliefs using the same provenance as they had previously, suspicions were raised. The Victoria and Albert Museum in London held an exhibition of Greenhalgh's "works" from 23 January to 7 February 2010.[3] The Metropolitan Police’s art and antiques unit built a replica model of the shed where the "works" were created and labelled Greenhalgh "the most diverse art forger known in history". The Relationship Between The Great Pyramid and the Book of the D
The Relationship Between The Great Pyramid and The Book of the Dead It has been proposed that the Great Pyramid of Giza is the Egyptian “Book of the Dead” symbolized in stone. “The intimate connection between the secret doctrine of Egypt’s most venerated books, and the secret significance of her most venerable monument, seems impossible to separate, and each form illustrates and interpenetrates the other. Marsham Adams proposed that the unique system of passages and chambers (particularly the Grand Gallery, obviously unnecessary in a tomb) has an allegorical significance only explained by reference to the Egyptian “Book of the Dead”. “The Pyramids and the Book of the Dead reproduce the same original, the one in words, the other in stone.” Can we find meaning and answers to the mystery of the Great Pyramid by studying the Egyptian “Book of the Dead” and its relationship to the Great Pyramid? What is the Egyptian “Book of the Dead”? “This is a composition of exceedingly great mystery.
The Best Way to Learn PHP
Learning something from scratch is almost always an arduous affair -- you simply have no idea as to where to start, or not to start, to kick things off. I loathed learning about the idiosyncrasies of C++'s syntax when all I wanted to learn were some darn programming concepts. As I'm sure you can agree, this is a less than ideal situation. This is where the Nettuts+ "The Best Way to Learn" series comes into the picture. Today, we're going to figure out the best way to learn PHP. Assignment #1: Disregard the Naysayers If you're reading this, chances are that you've Googled a lot to decide which language to learn and how. Haters gonna hate! As the popular saying goes, haters gonna hate! And let's not forget the sheer proliferation of hosts and frameworks PHP has spawned. Assignment #2: Install PHP through [X]AMP You could just install PHP but it gets quite boring without a server and some sort of database to play around with. This is where you grab a package such as XAMPP. Author: David Powers
