Coca-Cola Cupcakes I don’t drink coca-cola. But I do eat it. Weird. It’s way better eaten. There’s some dark and white sugar cooked with dark dutch processed cocoa powder…and a can of coke! There’s some the ol’ that pouring into this and this pouring into that. There’s some mixing. Take a little PAM and spray the liners–this is a sticky cupcake batter. UPDATED TIP ALERT: A few of you tried this recipe and sprayed them and the cupcake still stuck. These cupcakes are chocolately, decadent, rich and kind of amaze. This frosting isn’t frosting–it’s just whipped cream. And guess what? Next, cherries on top! P.S. Coca-Cola Cupcakes Recipe adapted from Baked: The New Frontier Yields 15 cupcakes Print this recipe! Cupcakes: 2 cups Coca-cola (do not use diet!) Whipped Cream Frosting: 1 1/2 cups of heavy whipping cream 4 tablespoons of powdered sugar 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract Maraschino cherries (for topping) Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
Interview: Epic Meal Time: A Bunch of Dudes, Just Making it Happen - Eater Interviews Epic Meal Time is a fantastically popular online cooking show that premiered in October and now clocks about a million views per episode, with fan-favorites getting as many as two-and-a-half million. The episodes feature massive bacon-laden dishes that are the stuff of cardiologists' nightmares, like meat gingerbread houses and egg rolls the size of your head. We talked to host Harley Morenstein about censor birds, chefs who miss the point, and the next level up from bacon. How did Epic Meal Time come to be? Who are all the people behind Epic Meal Time? Actually, one of my guy friends wanted me to ask you what happened to the cute girls. I'm sure he will. Is it difficult then to transform those ideas into things that actually work? So generally do the things you make end up tasting good? Really? Does anyone ever throw up after eating one of your creations? How much do these dishes cost to make? Crazy. Is there anything in the works? Last question: what's the next level up from bacon?
Monkey Bread with Bourbon Crème Anglaise | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn It didn't totally blow up my radar, however, until only a few weeks ago. I was celebrating a bachelorette with some of my favorite girlfriends at a too-cool-for-school Atlanta restaurant. We had already overindulged in one too many courses of food, but our waiter gently encouraged us to order the sampler platter of desserts. Never one to say no to sweets, I caved against my (stomach's) better judgement. I couldn't begin to tell you what else was on that giant tray of desserts. I fell hard for monkey bread that night; I've been waiting patiently for the right time to recreate it. Monkey Bread with Bourbon Crème Anglaise Serves 6-8 For the dough1/4 cup warm water (105-110 degrees)1 envelope (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast1 1/4 cups whole milk 2 tablespoons unsalted butter1 egg, lightly beaten1/4 cup sugar1 teaspoon salt4 cups all-purpose flour, plus more as needed For the caramel coating1 1/4 cups dark brown sugar 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

Cinnamon Sugar Pull-Apart Bread I’m sorry. I know it’s Monday morning and you probably came here for some pretty pictures of food that you could glance at, and then move on with your day… and here I go thrusting warm, soft cinnamon sugar bread in your face. It’s not fair. I know it’s not fair. I know that now you’re craving cinnamon rolls, and cream cheese frosting and chili fries and hot dogs. You don’t deserve this sort of torture. This bread hits all the comfort spots in my soul. I’m sorry and you’re welcome and I love you. Let’s start at the beginning. I did this all without the use of a stand mixer and dough hook. This dough can be made and left to rise , then refrigerated overnight for use in the morning. This is the dough just before it’s left to rise. After the dough has rested and risen for an hour, I knead it in a few tablespoons of flour. This is the part in the bread process where you can wrap the dough and place it in the fridge to rest overnight. I worked with my dough right away. I can’t even deal.
Caramel Brownie Cheesecake This is a monkeyhead concoction so please don’t be disappointed with me that it’s not 100% homemade. Sometimes as a mom you have to go with your childrens ideas in order to lift their creative wings. Monkey One loves cheesecake and caramel, Monkey Two has a passion for brownies you put the two of these knuckleheads together and look at what they come up with… Caramel Brownie Cheesecake. You gotta love the way these boys think. To see their vision come to fruition we used one of our favorite brownie mixes, a no bake white chocolate cheesecake recipe from Williams-Sonoma and we tried Jamie’s homemade caramel recipe from My Baking Addiction. M2 loves his brownie mix above because while I’m at work he can whip up a batch with my surfer and feel like he has stepped out of his sous chef role into the postion of head honcho. While the boys made the brownie mix I lined a springform pan with parchment paper. Once the brownie mix was in the oven we moved on to making Jamie’s caramel. Voila!
Banana Split Bites Banana Split Bites ~ A classic ice cream dessert gets mini for some bite size fun. And yes, there is actually a tiny scoop of ice cream tucked inside and underneath the whip cream of those little darlings. Banana Split Mini Bites For once I made something mini for portion control and not just for the cute factor. Keeping all things in mind what I served is what you see here. Here’s what wasn’t a hit and what I learned. Impromptu play dates with four kid’s ages 3-5 year olds after a full work day –not a good idea.Know in advance what other kids will and won’t eat. Luckily, dessert made all things right. No recipe just a few notes: Use firm bananas and cut into 1 inch sections. Leave a Comment
Snickerdoodle Muffins Last Friday I finished my exams and was planning on coming home and having a baking extravaganza, but then I tripped on my cat and fell down the stairs. We're both fine, though I think he's a lot more fine than me because as soon as I felt his soft body under my foot I took all my weight off of him and slid down the stairs. Which has left me with a swollen foot. I recently discovered the insane deliciousness of snickerdoodle cookies. As for how they turned out, the muffins were incredibly moist and a great sour cream muffin texture. Fried Ice Cream - StumbleUpon I'm sure you are thinking about Cinco de Mayo this very minute. You should be because it's in two days. We look for any excuse to celebrate. We look for any excuse to celebrate with food. This year I thought I'd share a recipe for deep fried ice cream. This would be considered one of my "BIGS". You will need a good quality Vanilla ice cream, corn flakes, flaked coconut and cinnamon. I just happen to find New Simply Cinnamon Corn Flakes. You can, of course, use regular corn flakes. You will need to make 5 scoops of ice cream from a quart size container. Drop the scoops of ice cream onto a baking sheet lined with waxed paper. Let me tell you what you don't have time for...PICTURES. The ice cream melts too fast. Put the corn flakes in a plastic bag. Pound the corn flakes with a rolling pin or crush the corn flakes anyway you'd like...just crush them. Put the crushed corn flakes into a shallow bowl. Add 1 cup coconut. Add one tablespoon cinnamon. In shallow bowl add 2 eggs and 1 tablespoon milk.
