Cheesecakes-Caramel Cheesecake-Mascarpone Cheesecake-Caramel Sauce
Posted by Grace Massa Langlois on Thursday, 19th May 2011 I’ve had a bottle of my favourite liqueur, Talea Italian Amaretto Cream, tucked away since Christmas. And for good reason. The liqueur combines rich cream with the heavenly aroma of amaretto, lending the perfect balance of smoothness and flavour. I knew two things: that flavour and the velvety cream would be perfect for my next Cheesecake.
Rainbow Cake in a Jar
I’ve always had a penchant for sunshine in a jar. Doesn’t the very phrase itself, “sunshine in a jar,” roll off your tongue and fill your mouth with magic? While I’ve never yet found myself a sunshine in a jar, I think we may have just concocted it in our kitchen tonight. In this simple recipe, a basic white cake is turned into a slew of bright colors, baked to perfection, then topped with a creamy white frosting.

S'mores Cookies
These cookies are every bit as delicious as they look. You may have noticed that I have been in a s'mores kick lately. First with the cookie dough pops, then with these cookies. I also plan to make additional s'mores themed treats this weekend.

Yeah, yeah, I know! Everyone has a recipe that they say is the best ever. Well, this one is mine.
Chocolate Guinness Cupcakes with Whiskey and Baileys
The only way a good stout beer, whiskey, and Irish cream liquor could be better is if they were mixed together - a la an Irish Car Bomb. Better still though, would be mixing it all up with some chocolate in the form of rich Guinness chocolate cupcakes, filled with Jameson chocolate ganache, and topped with Bailys buttercream frosting. Variations on this recipe can be found on loads of amazing food blogs like Smitten Kitchen, the Busty Baker, and others! Note: These do contain some booze that isn't cooked off, so please be careful (no heavy machinery, etc.) and keep them away from the youngsters.
Fun Summer Dessert: Watermelon Pie
One of my summertime childhood memories is eating the yummy watermelon sherbet dessert at Friendly’s restaurant. I loved it, so I decided to try to replicate this dessert for my own kids’ summertime memories! I made some “watermelon pie” for our 4th of July feast this year…to great success! My 4-year-old daughter loved it – like mother, like daughter! She saw it in the pan before I sliced it up…at that point it was still just a circle.

Crafty Kitchen: Owl S’mores
Here’s a fun recipe for adults and kids alike–owl smores! Let’s just start off by saying, when the items below are the ingredients, you know the final product is going to be good! To make these owls you’ll need graham crackers, Reese’s peanut butter cups, candy corn, M&Ms, and large marshmallows. To get started, use a sharp knife to cut off the top 3/8″ of each peanut butter cup (PB cups). If you’re having problems with the chocolate peeling off the bottom of the PB cups when you take off the wrapper, try putting them in the fridge or a cool place so the chocolate isn’t as soft. Line the PB cups up on half a graham cracker so the rounded part hangs just off the bottom.
