En mi opinión el sistema de patentes es el primer sistema abierto para la transferencia tecnológica, el precursor del movimiento del Open knowledge ya fue concebido para que los inventores a cambio de la protección publicaran toda la información relativa a su desarrollo, con el objeto que dicho solución hiciera parte del conocimiento técnico mundial.
