The buildings put up and decorated by the school's professors (Walter Gropius, Hannes Meyer, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy and Wassily Kandinsky) launched the Modern Movement, which shaped much of the architecture of the 20th century. Le Bauhaus Introduction Fondé en 1919 par Walter GROPIUS à Weimar, le Bauhaus (littéralement: " maison du bâtiment " ) étendit ses recherches à tous les arts majeurs et appliqués, en vue de les intégrer à l'architecture. Selon le dessein de son fondateur, tous ceux qui participaient à l'édification du bâtiment devaient être pénétrés des principes du maître d'oeuvre et créer en harmonie avec lui, la partie complétant le tout. I. Henry Van de Velde, souhaitant quitter la Grossherzogliche Kunstgewerberschule de Weimar ( l'école des arts et métiers de Weimar) fondée par lui en 1906 et dont il était le directeur, pressentit Walter Gropius pour lui succéder. La naissance du Bauhaus s'inscrit dans la période de la préfabrication et de l'invention, en effet durant cette période on construit en série des éléments répétitifs qui vont faire de l'architecture un jeu de construction. Parmi les professeurs du Bauhaus on retrouve Johannes Itten qui se détache par rapport à ses collègues. II. III. Conclusion
