Bath Fizzies

Bath Fizzies
Ice-cube trays serve as molds, giving the fizzies their shape. Using a flexible silicone model lets you slide the cubes out smoothly without breaking them. Show off the colors of the bath fizzies in glass jars with screw tops, the kind used for storing sugar and flour. Pack each type of fizzy in a separate jar so the scents won't meld. Write the name of the scent on a vellum tag (choose a shade that matches the fizzies), and punch a hole in the top. Thread the tag with ribbon, and tie it around the jar. *Makes 1 dozen (Use 2 per bath).

Chalkboard Mason Jar Magnetic Jars Longest title ever for a craft? I just couldn't decide what to call it, so it;s a little long-winded.... But, here's a tutorial on how to make Chalkboard Mason Jar Magnetic Jars: I was sent some products to try out from Plaid, along with a gift card to Walmart for any other supplies I may need. First off, did you know that Walmart has expanded their craft department?? It's awesome - my store even jumped over across the main aisle for more room... Repurposed Glass Jars with Decorative Paper & Happy Clippings 3K+ Don’t these repurposed jars look lovely with fresh tulips?! I am willing spring time to be here soon! I refuse to go grocery shopping without my week’s worth of meals planned out and list made. (It’s either that or wander aimlessly around the grocery store for two hours and then make ten more trips back during the week to get things I forgot.)

All Natural Graffiti Made from Moss – Crafting a Green World I just love a DIY urban beautification project! Whether we’re talking about Kintta’s yarn graffiti or using seedbombs to spread greenery to blighted spaces, I’m struck by how much a little color can impact the urban landscape. Moss graffiti art and moss carvings definitely fall under this umbrella. Moss Graffiti Art Unlike spray paint, moss graffiti art is all natural and healthy to work with. Almond Joy Sugar Scrub Cubes - With Lovely, These truffle-like almond joy bars may look, smell, and even taste delicious, but don’t go sinking your teeth in just yet! Instead, treat your skin to dessert. Your shower will feel indulgent, and you’ll emerge with silky smooth skin that smells like your favorite candy bar (don’t worry, it’s subtle). Bonus: the cocoa powder in these sugar scrub cubes is high in antioxidants, which can help flush out toxins and repair cell damage.

DIY Framed Hanging Succulent Garden If you have some vintage picture frames and you want to reuse them then you can make a hanging succulent garden. Of course you can also use some other plants and even grow herbs in such hanging garden but succulents and cactuses looks so good and are so easy to keep them alive that they are the best choice for such project. If you want your succulent garden to pop out you can sand your frame and paint it in some bright color. For the project you’ll need a large picture frame with an interior opening, a large piece of 1″ Chicken Wire, wood strips, a sheet of oak plywood, a bunch of nails, a can of varnish spray, cactus soil and a lot of small succulents.

DIY Gross out: How to make a horror-tastic intestine wreath If you want your house to display an original decoration, perfect for Halloween (or anytime of the year if you and/or the kids are horror fans), try making an intestine wreath. My husband was inspired by a posting on BoingBoing which described how to use your standard "crack filler goop" to make realistic intestines rupturing from a dummy. We decided to skip the dummy and make a wreath complete with eyeballs purchased from any craft aisle. Warning: this project is definitely messy. Note to self – next time, remember to wear rubber gloves when using the crack filler!

Handmade Salt Pouches For The Shower Or Bath I love salt scrubs, especially this time of year when I want to slough off the dead skin from winter, and I equally love bath salts for the skin softening ingredients in them – but more often than not I find myself in the shower. These pouches are perfect for combining both bath salt and salt scrub into an exfoliating pouch I can bring into the shower, and they are simple to make. You can go a few different routes when making these so play around with your recipes and find your favorite. DIY Cocoa Butter Milk Bath Continuing on with my obsession with DIY beauty treatments; and also because I have ridiculous amounts cocoa butter left, I give you: Cocoa Butter Milk Bath! Cleopatra was notorious for bathing in milk and apparently, so is Charlize Theron. Great company to keep if your ask me. Milk baths are great for dry skin as the lactic acid helps to loosen the proteins binding together the dead skin cells and this makes it easier to exfoliate them away.

It’s felt like forever since I’ve last blogged, and has felt like an eternity since I’ve done anything crafty and nifty. Since my morning sickness has gone into full speed (yes, we’re expecting our third this fall!) I haven’t felt like myself. But nothing like inspiration to wake one out of a reverie — or nightmare, in my constantly sick state.

Crayola Wall Art My mom is a preschool teacher. She's at a new site this year and has spent the past week getting it ready for the upcoming schoolyear. We transformed her office from drab to fab, and now all she's missing is some wall art.
