How to sew a Monster I got such an amazing positive feedback from many, many people concerning my monsters that I decided to give all my blog readers a little gift: A tutorial to make your own RevoluzZzionary Monster. It’s a simple one and even if you are a beginner you should be able to do it. If you have any questions while you are making the monster – just contact me. Lay one on top of the other, WRONG sides together. Now we’re going to ruffle the edges. Also, make sure to stretch your fabric as you sew. Turn the raw edges to the inside. Now match both ends up. Use a blind stitch to sew both ends together. Then do the same thing on the other side of the scarf.

I have a Masters Degree in Fine Arts from Indiana University, specializing in Theater Costume Design, Traditional Hand Tailoring and Pattern Making. I have worked as a freelance designer, tailor, milliner, and sewing instructor for 14 years. Today I would like to show you how to sew by hand. Please keep in mind sewing room safety. Hand Sewing Stitches Posted on 2008 under sew dresses | 23 Aug Sewing easy sewing stitches is the best way for beginners to get started. There are often times when machine sewn projects also need some hand sewing done. Here is an excellent chart I found from Britannica Online Encyclopedia. Running stitch is made of up and down stitches of equal length. Hemming stitch is made by beginning the stitch inside the fabric that is folded down and taking a few threads from the outer fabric, then bring the needle back up through the edge of the fold. Basting stitch is similar to the running stitch in that is is made of up an down stitches, however, the basting stitch is made with long stitches and can be made without knotting the thread so it can be easily taken out. Overcast stitch is made by making diagonal stitches over the raw edge of the fabric. Invisible stitch is made in between the two fabrics, taking a few threads from the top fabric and then a few threads from the bottom fabric.

We have a little friend who likes princesses, well enough, but she really likes construction sites, sharks and blue too. Here, I laid out a paper fin pattern on the top of the hood. (Note, the hood on this towel is rounded rather than being squared off. ) Next, cut the stabilizer for the fin slightly smaller than the terry cloth to allow for the seams. Bendy Dolls i LOVE bendy dolls. i really do. i remember first making these back when i was in girl scouts as a kid. Of course the ones i make now are much nicer, but the concept is still the same. They are very easy to make, and kids love them. i've had a lot of requests from folks asking just how they are made, so i thought i'd put together a tutorial. After repairing a bunch of bendies that the puppy chewed on, i decided to make Sage a few news ones for Yule. i'm working on putting together a few full play sets, i'll post pics of those later.
