How To Make "Clean" Play Slime Home Hacks
Previous image Next image We have yet to meet a child who isn't into slime. Icky, sticky and awesome is where fun is had and this version keeps kids and surfaces both, clean along the way.
DIY Market Bag – HonestlyWTF
With Earth Day just around the corner, we’re turning to artist and environmentalist Chris Jordan for inspiration. In this large-zoom photograph he has captured 1.14 million brown paper supermarket bags, the number used in the US every hour. And did you know that 2.7 billion plastic bags are used every day worldwide? Floored by these staggering numbers we were motivated to do a quick and easy DIY, recycling an old t-shirt into a reusable fringed market bag.
Make Your Own Silhouettes
Have you noticed that silhouettes are all the rage these days? I see them in magazines, on blogs, books, and the TV. I’ve priced them out a few times, only to be disappointed by how costly they can be. In kindergarten, I vaguely remember my teacher shining a light at us while we stood by a wall with a big piece of white paper taped on it.
Got BCS Original Fragrances?
I think most of us are likely to be fragrance oil addicts already if you are in the candle and or soap making business, which makes the fact that BC North is now carrying most of the fragrances from BC South even better! Let me be the first to say, some of these new to Bitter Creek North fragrances you really don’t want to miss out on! The Holidays are close enough, but still far enough away that you can hopefully still sneak a few of these dandies into your existing line before the seasons shows end! I’ve personally been using quite a few of these fragrances for many years, and some even before we purchased BCS, way back when it was still Sissies! This month I will share with you some of the fragrances that are personal favorites of mine, as well as fan favorites! There is no way I could ever cover all of them but it will hopefully give you incentive to look over the list, and spend some time testing these delightful offerings!
DIY: Blueprint-Inspired Holiday Project
Our own Angelica completed a DIY project over the holidays that's positively brilliant. She writes: After a series of failed baking adventures I realized it was time for me to transfer my love for YumSugar and food magazines to CasaSugar and design magazines. In the spirit of the holidays I picked a Light Bright project from this month's Blueprint magazine. I must admit, I'm a much better painter and craftswoman than I am a baker so the project was definitely a confidence booster. The Blueprint picture is on the left, my replica is on the right.
Christmas tree ornament mobile, how-to
Here is how I made my Christmas tree ornament mobile, it was easier than it looks, promise. The Supplies a 17″ steamer rack from a restaurant supply storeabout 5 feet of lightweight jack chaina small carabiner100 basic ornament hooksone roll, 500 feet, monofilament jewelry string (not the stretchy sort)200 jewelry crimp beads or tubesjewelry crimping tool100 lanyard hooks100 ornaments Note: In the photo above I show earring wire instead of ornament hooks. I changed that later as I found ornament hooks made it far easier to move ornaments around after they’d been hung. Also, my supplies are based on a 4 foot tall mobile using almost 100 ornaments, you’ll need to adjust amounts if you make one larger or smaller.
Paper Flower Key Holder / Mark Montano
Difficulty Rating: Beginner Tags If you need a quick 'just because' gift for someone, this is it! It’s simple to make, couldn’t be less expensive and we can all use one. I for one am always losing my keys and this, by far, is the easiest way for me to keep track of them.
'American Idol' Elimination Night: Who Are the Remaining Top 4?
Michael Becker / FOX This week’s American Idol theme of Brit Pop produced some of the strongest vocal performances of the season. Alas, after 60 million votes cast -- according to host Ryan Seacrest -- one of the Top 5 got the boot. VIDEO: 'Idol Hangover': Season 10's Haley Reinhart Talks Taking Risks on 'American Idol,' Feeling Sexy on New Album Sadly, that boot was fitted for country cutie Skylar Laine, the pint-sized Mississippi spitfire who livened up our screens every week with memorable performances, including The Faces’ anthem “Stay With Me” and Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Fortunate Son.” There will be no country finale this season, despite Laine’s strong performances of the CCR classic and Dusty Springfield’s “You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me," which resonated with the judges.
Balloon and torch lightsabres
OK, ok, let's get this out of the way before we start. I know these look very inuendoish. Let's have no more mention of that!
