10 Simple Ways to Feel Alive What do rock concerts, making love and exercise all have in common? I thought about that this weekend after seeing the Melvins play live at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. I’ve never really been into the Melvins, but my sister’s boyfriend is a big fan. Three out of four of us went to the show not really knowing what we were going to see. Even after seeing them live, I still wouldn’t consider myself a fan. Rock concerts are just one of those things that make you feel alive. That’s what rock concerts have in common with having sex and getting exercise. Those three things aren’t the only simple and inexpensive ways to feel alive, either. What would be on your list? Get close to nature Hiking, camping and anything else that gets you out of the concrete jungle for a while is a fantastic way to clear your head and remember you’re part of a living planet. Johnny Webber | hobbies, habits, and personal growth 10 Ways to Make Your Life More Interesting Today Let’s face it; sometimes life can become pretty routine. Maybe it has been awhile since you shook things up a bit and did something new. Well, there are plenty of things that you can do right now to spice life up a little. 1. If you’re still listening to the same songs that you were years ago, than it’s time to try something new. 2. Bruce Lee's Top 7 Fundamentals for Getting Your Life in Shape If you haven’t been living under a rock for the last 30 years I’m pretty sure you know who Bruce Lee was. If you have, then you may be interested to know that Lee was a very famous martial artist and actor who sparked the first big interest of Chinese martial arts in the West in the 60’s and 70’s. But besides being an awesome fighter and iconic figure Lee also had some very useful things to say about life. Here are 7 of my favourite fundamentals from Bruce Lee. 1. “As you think, so shall you become.” Perhaps the most basic statement of how we work. It’s easy to forget about this simple statement in everyday life. 2. “It’s not the daily increase but daily decrease. “If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you’ll never get it done.” If you want to improve your life then it’s tempting to want to add more. Adding more and more just creates more stress and anxiety. Adding more thoughts and thinking things over for the 111:th time may create a sense of security. Thinking has its place.
7 Ways to Be More Interesting Than You Ever Thought Possible Since I’ve arrived at my school in Morocco, I’ve had the opportunity to meet a wide range of people. Because it is an American school, the faculty is primarily composed of Americans, but there are still a lot of countries represented through many of the teachers and students. This means there are a lot of differing viewpoints and personalities to interact with. But it seems as if one of the things bringing us closer together is that we are all genuinely interesting people. Those ways are: 1. I can’t even begin to count how often I’ve started interesting conversations with other people about the topic of a book they or I am reading. For the most part, it’s good to read things outside your comfort zone. 2. Blending into the crowd has never been an effective strategy for being an interesting person. There is always a tendency to pull towards the middle ground and be like everyone else. 3. 4. Have you ever met someone who had a characteristic about them that you just like? 5. 6. 7.
Social Skydiving: The Art of Talking to Strangers I’ve travelled all over the world, from New York to Cape Town, Rio de Janeiro to Tokyo. I’ve had the privilege of working with brilliant minds. A few years ago I learned French, and mastered the language well enough to speak in horrible slang with a fully authentic accent. I bought my first house not even 72 hours after my first ever house-shopping expedition, and only hours before I was due on a plane to Australia. But the single most exhilarating thing I’ve ever done was to make a habit of talking to strangers. Nothing has changed my world view, and my life, more than taking the risk of saying “Hi” to people I don’t know on a regular basis. How to Become a Social Skydiver I can’t help but geek out on almost everything I do. Figure out what you want. How to Approach People I prefer to keep my conversations fairly organic. What you say isn’t nearly as important as how you say it. That’s okay. What I’ve Learned from Talking to Strangers People don’t bite. One Approach a Day

Whether you’re starting a business, leaving a soul-sucking job, trying to run a marathon or shed 45 pounds, it’s all the same. The fastest way to fill the gap between where you are right now and where you want to be, is with the people in your corner. Environment is everything The question is, what are you doing about it? Make friends. So, who’s in your corner?
Break Free From Opinions We always have a place in life for a close circle of friends with whom we share every moment of victory, a small and yet exciting discovery and every piece of mind. And some of us expect certain reaction of approval and encouragement from people to keep following the path of self development and growth. Whenever I tripped I always had those who would catch me as I was one foot from the ground about to hit my head because of the decisions I’ve made, things I’ve said and roads I’ve taken. I always expected certain reaction from people around me as if they were my puppets that had to react in the exact way I wanted them to based on the systems of believes that developed in me from the moment I was born. But most of all I was suffering in the process of hitting myself against the wall of someone else’s negative opinions trying to shutter my motivation. There is no such thing as negative feedback. I made an observation. People take different roads seeking fulfillment and happiness.
