Smoky Sweet Potato Burgers with Roasted Garlic Cream and Avocado Before we talk burgers, let me tell you what I’m doing. I’m eating some blueberry yogurt pretzels (which are oh-so awesome… but would be even awesomer if they were really coated in yogurt and not white chocolate disguised as yogurt) and drinking a san pellgrino aranciata that is spiked with um… vodka, malibu and tequila. With those pretty perfectly square ice cubes. I know. I just couldn’t decide! I just kept adding things to the soda until I got a taste that I liked. But what is up with all of these flavors? I mean, it was great, if you’re into that sort of thing that includes plastering yourself to the couch for so long that your body forms an identical indentation that’s semi-permanent, and ordering pizza Friday night which not only was dinner, but then also became lunch and then uh, dinner again on Saturday. Now don’t go getting all excited thinking that my husband ate these for dinner. Welcome to my life. Print Save Smoky Sweet Potato Burgers with Roasted Garlic Cream and Avocado Chomp.

31 Fun Treats To Make In A Muffin Tin Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken Friday, February 24, 2012 Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken* Considering how well y’all took to me re-blogging the Fire Roasted Tomato Basil Soup, I decided to proclaim this week throwback week. So far I have managed to watch season one of Buffy, drink a Sonic Oceanwater with vodka (helloooo highschool, err ummm college), and listened to as many boy bands as Pandora could dish up. Because of that, I now have LFO and Soul Decision back on my iphone. It’s pretty embarrassing since I am probably one of the only people who still remembers all the words… New Kids On The block had a bunch of hits, Chinese food makes me sick and I think it’s fly when girls stop by for the summer, for the summer. Anyywhoo, to keep on rolling down memory lane I had to bring back my favorite dish from all of 2009. The flavor is perfect, but it’s the simplicity that gets me. Ice Cream Cookie Pie I can’t explain what possessed me to bake an enormous chocolate chip cookie in the bottom of a pie plate and then pile it high with hot fudge, mint chip ice cream, whipped cream, toasted almonds and chocolate shavings. I could try to convince you that I was motivated by it being Pi(e) Day, but seeing as 3.14 came and went a few days ago that reason wouldn’t really be valid. Or I could blame the green ice cream on St. Patrick’s Day coming up. These would only be excuses. The truth is…I made this Ice Cream Cookie Pie because I knew it would be so good! I freely admit it, I completely gave in to an wholly hedonistic desire on my part to make a cookie sundae. I’ve been dreaming about ways I could execute this pie ever since I found a recipe for a cookie-crusted ice cream pie on the back of a package of store-bought chocolate chip cookies almost two years ago. If you like cookies and ice cream, this is your pie. Ice Cream Cookie Pie Total time: 10 hours Yield: 8 servings
Brown Butter Double Fudge Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cookies Little bit of a mouthful there. But it’s like a cookie on top of another cookie! Yeah. Like total dirty cookie on cookie action. Except these ones down below wanted to try a few different positions. I dunno… they’re all mixed up. In order to solve a common I-want-a-chocolate-CHOCOLATE-cookie-but-he-wants-a-plain-chocolate chip-cookie dilemma that happens like, every single weekend here… I made both. Some of them smashed up against each other while others sat on top of each other but in the end, they all tasted… fantabulous. And then they tasted extra delicious after I spent two hours cleaning out the contents of our bar (take that as you will), after he spent three hours organizing the pantry (that was weird) and after we both needed to severely eat our emotions immediately post-Boardwalk Empire finale. WHAT was that. ??????? Why??? Then I tried to dunk a cookie in milk and failed. I need cookie dunking lessons, a redo on season 2 (thanks HBO), and a salad. [from giant rainbow cookies]
Life Blog | Personal Finance News & Advice Mint is, in all honesty, one of the best spring investments you can make. No, not Mint.com — that’s a given. Mint as in, the herb. For as little as $2.50 per pot at a farmer’s market, you’ll have years of bounty. The perennial is hardy: Frugal Foodie has had the same pot on her balcony going on five years now. (Mint can be invasive too, taking over the garden if you put it in a bed with other plants.) Growing your own is a much better bet than buying fresh from the supermarket, where a tiny clam shell costs $2 and loses its pep within days. There are also numerous mint varieties beyond a basic mint, if you feel like getting adventurous. Frugal Foodie likes chocolate and ginger mints, and there are also pineapple, orange and apple, among others. Even if you’re not much of a chef, mint is a great investment for bar purposes alone.
