I love Starfall…this is one of my favorite websites. We use it in our classroom all the time. It crosses a variety of reading abilities. This particular activity is the very basic of phonics. It allows the student to see the letter and hear its sound. It is very interactive, and young students can work independently. by mandimedley Jun 29
This site allows the very basic exploration of the alphabetic principle. This can be used for children from kinder to special education. It shows that the letter is represented by a big and small letter and that these letters are associated with a specific sound. This is the fundamental step to introduce any one to reading. by jcampolo Jun 9
Students can work on phonics in this website, they can have fun while learning the sounds and letters. by flowerific Mar 11
My students really enjoy using Starfall. It is colorful and interactive. It also provides great phonics practice, especially with the alphabet section. If i have students who are struggling with letter recognition or letter-sound conncetion, I let them play around on this site. It shows them the letter, tells them its name, the sound and then shows them a picture of an object that goes with that letter. There are also other activities on this site, such as the pumpkin and snowman games, that show the students a letter, and then a song comes on to help them remember that letter and the sound or objects that go with it. by kham1 Nov 5
