The Getty Center in Los Angeles is one of the most frequently visited museums in America – and started as a private art collection from one man (J. Paul Getty) who had a passion for art. Aside from a few well known examples like this one, however, the term curation has rarely been used outside of the world of art … until now. Unlock your mobile phone for free! How to view DNG files and thumbnails in Windows If you convert RAW files to DNG as a part of your workflow in Lightroom like I do, you probably get frustrated with the fact that Windows does not display DNG image thumbnails or let you view files in Windows Photo Viewer. Windows by default does now know how to read DNG files and the only operating system today that has some support from Adobe, is Windows Vista. Adobe officially released a 32-bit DNG codec for Windows Vista, but it does not work with the 64-bit version of Windows Vista, Windows XP or Windows 7, making it pretty worthless. Gladly, there are a couple of workarounds to get all Windows operating systems to display DNG thumbnails and open them in Windows Photo Viewer and I will show you how to do that in this quick article. DNG support in Windows XP Interestingly, Windows XP (32-bit) comes with full DNG support, but it needs to be activated from the Windows registry.

Introducing the Google Form API Overview A few months back I remember seeing Dr. Nic's Custom Google Forms Post (and source ) and thinking that was genius. Culture Must Always Be a Commons Nick Poole, CEO, Collections Trust In case I haven't already made it abundantly clear - I love museums, libraries and archives. I think that investing in professional communities who bring together and protect our shared heritage and make it available for use and enjoyment is one of the most important marks of an enlightened society. The future, after all, is made of everything that came before it, and our job as a profession is to defend the universal and inalienable principle that people must be free to benefit from their heritage.
Reset your Microsoft Office 2003 Serial Number From time to time I will come across a machine that has a pirated office serial number. Microsoft checks your serial number before allowing you to download updates for Windows, and Office. The problem is that there is no way within office to just update your serial number (With a legitimate one) without uninstalling, and reinstalling the software. Updated Google Map Service Offers Museum Floor Plans Google has updated its browser-based map service to include a new feature that should help visitors to museums navigate the sometimes-confusing maze of wings and galleries they often confront. The amplified service, announced on Wednesday, incorporates floor plans from dozens of museums and libraries in nine countries, including more than 30 in the United States. The primary purpose of the new feature, which has been available for some time on Android-based devices, seems to be to allow users to see the layouts of indoor public gathering places like shopping malls, airports, train stations and convention centers. But some leading cultural institutions have also been listed, and the expanded service also contains an invitation to museums and libraries that wish to be included to upload their floor plans themselves.
