Bramble Berry® | Easy Lip Butter Recipe< Making lip butters is fun! It's also fairly easy and lends itself to much experimentation and personalization with little worry of totally ruining a batch. I like to use a recipe that includes: 1 part Wax2 parts Vegetable Butter1 part Liquid Oil So a specific recipe for an 8 oz. batch would look like this (all measured by weight): 2 oz. However, you can mix and match oils. To use the flavor oils, you'll want to use 1% to 3% by weight, so the recipe above, with 8 oz. of oil, would use 0.08 oz. to 0.24 oz. flavor by weight. Happy Soaping! Anne-Marie
3 Simple Homemade Lip Balms - Your Lipsve Never Been Yummier Three Amigo Lip Balms Waiting for a homemade lip balm to set up is a little like developing a Polaroid. You stand there and watch. And then you watch. So my first recommendation when making your own homemade lip balm: Pour it in your container and walk away. Seriously. These are the three homemade lip balm recipes that I’ve enjoyed the most over the past couple of years. One is made with lavender essential oil, one has a main ingredient of coconut oil, and the last … well, it’s peppermint-chocolatey goodness. Now, with all these recipes, you can substitute whatever essential oils you have on hand (or prefer). This recipe uses honey, which gives the balm a heavenly taste. Note: This lip balm is relatively soft, but I think it would hold up just fine if you wanted to pour it in a clean lip balm tube. Luscious Lavender Lip Balm Recipe Warm the oils, beeswax and honey in a small, stainless steel pot or bowl. More About the Color If you recognize the tube shape, then maybe you’ll know. Big love!

From Kitchen Counter to Beauty Counter | Beauty Nerds United Lately, I’ve been watching a lot of Cosmetic Couturier lip videos. In every video she always uses the sugar scrub from LUSH. I know a lot of you probably have the same problem I do when it comes to LUSH…it’s ridiculously difficult to get to one of the stores and ordering bath products online can be a bit scary. I am hypersensitive to certain scents, so I can’t just pick something out and try it out without some serious fears. Today, I decided, I want my own lip scrub. I headed out to my kitchen and came up with this… I used a stainless steel bowl that I rubbed down with alcohol first to disinfect. I used a 1:2 ratio for sugar to olive oil In the picture I used straight up white sugar because it is what I have. You should get a slightly crumbly and lightly moistened mixture. I added about 1/2 a teaspoon or so of honey. Then I added a half a capful of lemon juice and vanilla extract. You can add whatever flavorings you want. Then stir… Transfer your mixture to a sterilized container and store!
