Ambulance crews said they were treating six people at the scene near Springhill Academy in Burntwood, West Midlands. A witness at the scene told local papers that the car had hit a bus stop. They said: ‘I ran outside after hearing a huge bang – it was a really deep thud. It seems as though the car has gone up the kerb, which is quite a way down, and ploughed into the bus stop. I really hope everyone is okay. However, Staffordshire police said that five people had been injured – two adult pedestrians, two children and the driver. They were injured shortly after 8.30am at a time when the area would have been busy with parents dropping off their children. Three ambulances were initially called to the scene along with police vehicles. Police said that their injuries were ‘minor’ and received treatment at the scene – no arrests have been made. ‘Six people have been injured.
Driveways St Albans Supreme Court to hear 'faithless elector' case ahead of 2020 presidential election The Supreme Court said Friday it will hear a case over whether presidential electors have to vote in accordance with their states’ popular vote in the Electoral College. The court said it would take up the case of Chiafalo v. State of Washington, where three so-called "faithless electors" who were fined after voting in 2016 for Colin Powell are challenging whether a state can bind an elector to select the state's popular vote winner. In the faithless elector case, advocates for the court's intervention say the issue needs urgent resolution in an era of intense political polarization and the prospect of a razor-thin margin in a presidential election, although so-called faithless electors have been a footnote so far in American history. The justices will hear arguments in April and should issue a decision by late June. About 30 states require presidential electors to vote for the states' popular vote winner, and electors almost always do so anyway.
Fergie ‘cuts short Balmoral trip with Prince Andrew’ after Prince Philip arrives ‘several days early’ for holiday FERGIE cut short her week-long trip to Balmoral with Prince Andrew after Prince Philip arrived early for his summer holiday, reports claim. The Duke of Edinburgh supposedly refused to be in the same room as Sarah Ferguson for years after her divorce from Prince Andrew in 1996. The Sun reported in April that Philip, 98, had removed his long-standing objection to Andrew’s relationship with Fergie and “no longer cares”. But news of her hastened departure from the Scottish retreat - after just two days - suggests there may still be some remaining tension. It could be quite a setback for Fergie, who has done her best to ingratiate herself with The Firm. But she still does have one very important champion - the Queen – who invited Fergie to Balmoral for the fourth summer in a row. Fergie and Andrew, both 59, travelled to the Highlands separately to avoid being pictured together, given the recent focus on their relationship. Fergie and Andrew announced their divorce in May 1996. Exclusive
