Fun Summer Dessert: Watermelon Pie
One of my summertime childhood memories is eating the yummy watermelon sherbet dessert at Friendly’s restaurant. I loved it, so I decided to try to replicate this dessert for my own kids’ summertime memories! I made some “watermelon pie” for our 4th of July feast this year…to great success! My 4-year-old daughter loved it – like mother, like daughter! She saw it in the pan before I sliced it up…at that point it was still just a circle.

“Keys To Success” Graduation Party Decor
Our final table display for the Anthropologie-inspired graduation party is totally “themed-out” and reinforces our idea more than any. I set up a “Keys to Success” guest table where they could write notes to the graduate, and pick up party favors. It all comes together with the addition of a Key display that’s framed and placed prominently. You can see the coordinating seated table and dessert table here. Remember, auxiliary tables like this are a place where all guests will gather at some point so it’s important to make sure it matches the rest of the decorated space. This might be set up near the entrance/exit of the party, or off to the side where there’s plenty of room to move about.
Better Grilled Cheese
Funky versions of America's simplest sandwich have been popping up at national restaurants and quick-service chains more and more in recent years. Problem is, when restaurants start to get creative, it usually spells trouble for your waistline. Au Bon Pain's Prosciutto Mozzarella Sandwich is a perfect example of this "more is more" mantra, where a few thin slices of cured ham and a mozzarella blanket turn a lunchtime bite into a sandwich that packs as much saturated fat as 5 scoops of Breyers vanilla ice cream. We're all for innovating, but if you're going to do it, do it right.

I changed that later as I found ornament hooks made it far easier to move ornaments around after they’d been hung.
