Use of Lines In Graphic Design Lines in Graphic Design The basic element in graphic design is a line. As a fundamental part of the design, a line is used to add style, create forms, divide space by being a border around other design elements, and much more. You maybe think that a line is a line. There is not much science behind it. Apple vs. FBI is the big story no one's touching at Mobile World Congress Plenty of executives will line up to talk about the new phones, drones and VR gear introduced at this week's Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona. But when it comes to the biggest story in tech, no one wants to go there. In California, Apple is battling a February 16 federal court order to create a new version of its iOS mobile software that will unlock an iPhone 5C used by a terrorist in December's San Bernardino massacre. Apple says complying with the FBI's request will create a backdoor into the iPhone and set a "dangerous precedent" that exposes all its customers to security risks. The government says this is a one-time request (even though there is a list of a dozen other iPhones it wants unlocked) and argues that getting information from the iPhone is a matter of national security. Apple CEO Tim Cook and his team must respond to the order by Friday.

How come geometry is so popular in design? Let us look at it from its very beginnings. As a starting point in history, we may take Wassily Kandinsky and the year 1926, when this famous artist wrote a book named Point and line to plane, which had a huge impact on theorizing the use of geometry in art.
