Deleting “Blank” Pages Users often ask how to get rid of a blank page that is being printed at the end or in the middle of a document. How to approach this problem depends on whether or not the page is actually blank. A simple test will help you decide: Can you see the page? That is, in Print Layout view or Print Preview, does Word display the empty page? If so, it is not really “blank.” “Blank” pages that aren’t really blank Except for the blank even or odd pages that Word inserts as needed before an Odd or Even Page break (see “True blank pages”), most “blank” pages aren’t really blank. Figure 1. When you do this, you’ll suddenly see a lot of markings that may be unfamiliar to you if you’ve never before displayed nonprinting characters (or “formatting marks”). The one you want to concentrate on is the paragraph mark: ¶. Table at the end of the document If there is a table at the very end of your document, Word will insist on having an empty paragraph after the table. Blank page in the middle of a document

Here’s the trailer for Collateral if you need a visual refresher: Mann chose to shoot HD because of how the format rendered the story’s setting. LA Goes LED Environmentally speaking, this is a good thing — though it’s easy to get a little nostalgic to put the implications of this retrofit into perspective. Justin Gerdes has written a ton for Forbes about LED lighting and its benefits to cities big and little, including the following in September: “On June 18, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa announced [PDF] the completion of the first phase of the project, with LED fixtures installed on 141,089 street lights.” What Makes Artificial Lighting ‘Realistic’? Apps stuck downloading after restoring from iCloud? Here's the fix! | iMore While iCloud is the most convenient way to restore your data to a new iPhone or iPad, that doesn't mean it's always the most reliable. One of the largest complaints I hear from users is that after restoring, a few apps get stuck installing and can't be deleted or restarted. Luckily, there are a few easy tricks you can perform in order to get your apps back in no time! 1. The first thing you should try in order to get stuck apps unstuck is tapping the icon. If tapping the app icon doesn't solve anything, proceed to the next step. 2. Hold down the Home button and Power button on your iPhone or iPad and keep holding them until you see the Apple logo. 3. You own every app you've purchased and can delete and re-download them on demand. If this doesn't work, or your iPhone or iPad isn't letting you delete apps, continue on. 4. As a last and final option, canceling an iCloud restore has always worked for me. Launch the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad. Your tips and tricks?

The Cinematography of "The Incredibles" Part 2 See Part 1 here.Continuing with my case study of the shot compositions from Pixar's film "The Incredibles". All images used here are ©Disney/Pixar (unless otherwise stated). Composition in film includes many different aspects; color, shape, line, contrast, positioning, cropping, viewpoint, rhythm, perspective, proportion, geometry, and many more. The dinner table sequence is a nice one that showcases how well you can move the camera around depending on which character(s) you want to make as the focus of the shot. A 2 shot. Warm colors, warm lighting, all conveying a comfortable family environment. Well shot and beautifully executed, the audience always knows where all the characters are, her with Helen and Dash looking at Bob, it motivates the camera to cut (to see what they are seeing). Characters are never blending into the background too much, color tones and shape (silhouettes) are always clear to make the image fast and easy to read. Rule of Thirds is everywhere. Awesome shot. o
theconversation “And so it begins … ISIS flag among refugees in Germany fighting the police,” blared the headline on the Conservative Post; “with this new leaked picture, everything seems confirmed”. The image in question purported to show a group of Syrian refugees holding ISIS flags and attacking German police officers. For those resistant to accepting refugees into Europe, this story was a godsend. The photo quickly spread across social media, propelled by far-right groups such as the English Defence League and Pegida UK. The problem is, the photo is three years old, and has precious little to do with the refugee crisis. But news in the digital age spreads faster than ever, and so do lies and hoaxes. But ordinary people are also starting to take a more sophisticated approach to the content they view online. Reverse image search Not only is a reverse image search one of the simplest verification tools, it’s also the one that showed the “leaked” ISIS refugee photo was a fake. YouTube DataViewer
