How To Create a Gothic Blackletter Typographic Design Blackletter or gothic script fonts are hugely popular in a range of modern cultures. Metal bands, tattoo artwork and extreme sports brands all make use of the awesome blackletter style. Often the sharp letter shapes are enhanced with elaborate swirls and decorations. The design I’ve been working on features the word ‘Cobra’ – Simply because it sounds pretty bad-ass! View full size artwork The first stage of the design process will be in Illustrator, here we’ll create and tweak the gothic script lettering. I wasn’t too keen on the shape of the letter A, so I took a copy of the O, created outlines from the text (CMD+Shift+O) then used the Direct Selection Tool to take portions of the original letter A to build my own customised version. The new letter A was combined with the rest of the word and all the letters converted to outlines making them ready for customisation. Elsewhere a new brush was created. Smaller flicks were drawn and carefully positioned over key points of the text.

The Ballerina Project | For Me, For You I’ve always had such a fascination with ballerinas. Maybe because I can’t even touch my toes, so the idea of dancing that gracefully and almost otherworldly is pure magic to me. The Ballerina Project – photos of ballerinas in very different spots around NYC – is so lovely. I love the contrast between the dancers and the space around them. via Mosey via Tenacious Dee

Rainbow Cake in a Jar I’ve always had a penchant for sunshine in a jar. Doesn’t the very phrase itself, “sunshine in a jar,” roll off your tongue and fill your mouth with magic? While I’ve never yet found myself a sunshine in a jar, I think we may have just concocted it in our kitchen tonight. Cakes baked in jars can be topped with traditional metal canning lids and stored in the fridge for up to five days. Rainbow Cake in Jar 1 box white cake mix made according to package instructionsNeon food coloring in pink, yellow, green, turquoise, and purple3 one-pint canning jars1 can vanilla frostingRainbow sprinkles Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Scoop about 1/2 cups of cake batter into five small bowls. Spoon about 3 tablespoons of the purple batter into the bottom of each jar. Remove jars and allow to cool completely before scooping a small portion from the top of your cake and adding a hefty dollop of vanilla buttercream to the top. WARP.la | Información musical todo el día DIY Wrap Bracelet You should all know by now that we are all about stacking bracelets on our wrists. The more, the better. In fact . . . the most, the best! You’ll need (for a double wrapped bracelet) :* Lengths will vary depending on the size of your wrist (see comments for suggestions). Fold the length of leather cording in half to form a loop. Place the ball chain along the leather cording with the end of the chain meeting the end of the wrap. Continue wrapping while checking it for fit around the wrist. When you have reached the end of the ball chain wrap the linen cording around the leather strands 2-3 more times. Thread the hex nut through the strands and tie a second knot. Trim with scissors and your wrap bracelet is finished!! The materials are listed for a double wrap bracelet. It’s a party!

Leave Before the Lights Come On | Songs Well this is a good idea, He wouldn't do it if it wasn't, He wouldn't do it if it wasn't one. Well my friend fancies you, Oh what a way to begin it all, You said it's always exciting words to hear And we woke up together not quite realising how, Oh when your stretching and yawning, Its always hard in the morning, And I suppose that's the price you pay, Oh it isn't what it was, She's thinking he looks different today, And oh there's nothing left to guess now, You left before the lights came on, Because you didn't want to ruin, All the lust that was brewing, Before he absolutely had to, And how can you wake up, With someone you don't love? And you woke up together not quite realising how, Oh but he's stretching and yawning, It's always hard in the morning, Quick, let's leave, before the lights come on, 'Cos then you don't have to see, 'Cos then you don't have to see, What you've done, Until tomorrow comes, I'll walk you up, what time's the bus come?
