Lords Sewing | Sewing & Embroidery Products DIY Zadig et Voltaire Cut-Out Skull Tee Thanks to the amazing work of the late Lee Alexander McQueen, the sparkly clutches of Thomas Wylde, and the wearable art of Zadig et Voltaire, skulls have found a place in high-end and mainstream fashion. Even the goodest of the good girls are sporting skulls on everything from blinged out bags to preppy polos. Cut outs are a fun and fresh form of embellishment and lucky for us they are easy enough to do on your own. Try livening up a white tee with a deathly skull- if drawing isn’t your strong-suit, print out a picture, lay it between the layers of your shirt and hold the shirt up to a window to trace a shape on to the back. Keep the shapes simple- the less pieces you cut out the less you have to sew and the quicker the process will be! Like this: Like Loading...
The Costume Page money origami Essential life skill #3: folding a shirt and tie from a dollar bill. In terms of usefulness, I rank this right up there with the ability to parallel park. This is my first-ever money origami attempt, which was much more successful than the parallel parking section of my driving test, which I failed. Granted, nobody needs to parallel park in rural Minnesota where I grew up, so the incentive to learn was not great. A more useful skill is avoiding animals in your path, such as my math teacher's escaped pig which was loitering in the middle of the road one morning during my lesson. You can fold yourself a drawerful of shirts by following an instructional video.

Renaissance Costumes, Medieval Clothing, Madrigal Costume: The Tudor Shoppe The clothing of the Renaissance era was often distinctive and elaborate. The various European cultures were very fashion-conscious, so the costume and attire were appropriately stylized and remarkable. In fact, the purpose of clothing in Renaissance times was to make a statement or establish one’s social status. The standard image most people conjure when imagining Renaissance costume is clothing worn by the upper class. Style was a function of status, so both men and women chose attire that stood out, particularly for formal affairs. The purpose of Renaissance formalwear was much the same as today: to celebrate a special occasion or dress appropriately for an official function. In the same way, Renaissance men and women wore their most visually striking outfits when the need arose. Would you wear an evening gown or tuxedo every day? During the Renaissance, clothing choices were often a clear mark of social strata.
