PICO: The world's smallest Arduino compatible board! by MellBell Electronics Risks and challenges During the prototyping phase of PICO, we've gone through 21 different iterations to make sure that we can have the perfect tiny size of 0.6"x0.6" while keeping the high-performance and ease-of-use that the official Arduino boards are known for. Because we've gone through 21 different iterations, we now can decide how and where we're going to manufacture the boards to ensure the promised high quality, while keeping our costs low. Regarding distribution, we're going to contact and coordinate with every backer to decide where and when we're going to deliver the order.
Binary Numbers ← Computer Science Unplugged The binary number system plays a central role in how information of all kinds is stored on computers. Understanding binary can lift a lot of the mystery from computers, because at a fundamental level they’re really just machines for flipping binary digits on and off. There are several activities on binary numbers in this document, all simple enough that they can be used to teach the binary system to anyone who can count!
Getting Started with ArduBlock DOWNLOAD Ardublock 1.Download ardublock-all.jar ArduBlock 2. In Arduino IDE, open menu “Arduino” -> “Preferences” 3. Find “Sketchbook location:” A beginner's guide to Arduino After some years of experimenting with Arduino, I decided that the time has come to share the knowledge I've acquired. So I here it goes, a guide to Arduino, with the bare basics for beginners and some more advanced explanations for people who are somewhat more familiar with electronics. Every step will consist of a detailed explanation, then a summary, followed by a more advanced approach. If you're a complete beginner, I recommend reading the explanation first, and then the summary. There will (almost certainly) be some parts of the explanation you don't understand. Don't worry, it is absolutely normal, it will become clear after reading some other examples in the next steps, just don't get discouraged!
Nano OSH: Schematics The Arduino Nano is open-source hardware! You can build your own board using the following files: Error Detection ← Computer Science Unplugged The world is noisy place, and errors can occur whenever information is stored or transmitted. Error detection techniques add extra parity bits to data to determine when errors have occurred. This activity is a magic trick which most audiences find intriguing. RFID Keepsake Box · Mike Buss A few years ago, I wanted to make something special for my girlfriend's birthday. After experimenting with an Arduino, I decided to try to make her a high-tech keepsake box that can lock or unlock with an RFID card. Here is the final result: I had read about the Reverse Geocache Puzzle by Mikal Hart and thought the idea was brilliant. I wanted to do something similar, but with a twist.
Arduino unveils Arduino SIM – a new cellular connectivity service for Arduino IoT Cloud Arduino has today launched Arduino SIM, a SIM-only service exclusively for IoT (internet of things) devices based on the Arduino platform, to give developers and manufacturers cellular access to the Arduino IoT Cloud platform from over 100 countries with a single data plan and competitive pricing. Arduino SIM aims to provide the simplest path to cellular IoT device development in an environment familiar to millions. The cellular service, provided by Arm® Pelion™ Connectivity Management, means a single physical Arduino SIM can be used in over 100 countries worldwide with one simple data plan. The Arduino SIM data plan is launching initially in the US, with availability in Europe and Asia to follow in summer 2019. New security-focused Arduino boards Arduino SIM is initially rolling out with support for Arduino MKR GSM 1400 (3G with 2G fallback) – a 32-bit Arduino board supporting TLS and X.509 certificate-based authentication through an on-board secure element and crypto-accelerator.
Ambassador Summary The IAU Dark Skies Ambassadors is a program that invites keen enthusiasts worldwide to be dark sky advocates and spread the word of the concern of light pollution. Dark Skies Ambassadors organise actions, get others to do events and/or do events, and help advertise events. Joining the program could also create a peer-supporting environment and provide visibility of events. Who can join? We welcome wholeheartedly individuals or organizations who are interested in promoting dark sky protection and had organized at least one dark-skies related activity to join us.
Make your own smart watch Most IT companies participate in the race to grab people’s wrist. A smart watch becomes the most significant item in a wearable device category. You can easily find this mood in this link, there are tons of smart watches. But here is a simple way to evaluate smart watch’s future on your own. DIY Self Balancing Robot using Arduino After being inspired by RYNO motors and other self balancing scooters from Segway, I always wanted to build something similar. Thinking for while, I decided to build a Self Balancing Robot using Arduino. This way I would be able to grasp the underlying concept behind all these scooters and also learn how PID algorithm works.
