Super cute sewing tutorials Have you visited Anna Graham's blog Noodlehead yet? If you like to sew things that are so cute you can't stand it, rush right over there. Here's her free tutorial for gathered clutches (also available as a PDF pattern with other styling options for purchase right here.) Or maybe you want a little zippered pouch with a key ring. Tutorial here. Maybe you want that zippered wallet to have some adorable detailing. gift ideas Okay, there are a TON of bag tutorials out there . . . I cannot exaggerate that enough! However, my very brief sewing experience has told me that I'm HORRIBLE at following tutorials . . .

SUPER Easy Ironing Board Cover Tutorial If you'd like to see my (license free) Handbag Patterns please look here. Thanks for your ironing board cover (IBC) tutorial requests. Calling this a tutorial might be pushing it slightly as it is outrageously easy, but then, really easy is really good right? This one is for everyone who asked for it (especially Ian, because I love it when fellas drop in for a read). You won't need to make a casing, obtain cord for ties, or even thread a cord for the casing (which is fantastic for lazy busy ol' me) because we are going to use the casing from the old IBC. Of course, in order to follow this tutorial the casing on your old IBC will need to be intact. Made By Rae: (Free!) Buttercup Bag Sewing Pattern This pattern uses a mere fat quarter of fabric for the outer + a little less of another fabric for lining. If you’re using quilting cotton for the outer fabric, I recommend using a fusible interfacing to strengthen it. You’ll also need a magnetic snap and (optionally) a couple of buttons, although it looks pretty cute without the buttons too. I think this would also look great with some piping or ric-rac over the pleats…I can’t wait to see what y’all do with this one! While I appreciate links to this post (but not directly to the pattern), please don’t “borrow” my pictures without permission. Thanks and enjoy!

Infant/Toddler Pillowcase Dress Materials:2 pieces of 18” x 16.5” cotton fabric (I used two fat quarters for this dress)14” of 1/2” knit elastic1 package of 1/2” double fold bias tape (great tutorial here!!)matching thread Normally, one would use a pretty patterned, embroidered, or vintage pillowcase to make this dress. However, I wanted to make my daughter a dress that would match Mommy's dress, and I certainly couldn't fit into a pillowcase! You can still use a pillowcase if you would like, but just ignore steps 2-3 since the pillowcase will already have that completed for you. sewing 101: making a pouf Add a burst of color to your room with this crafty pouf! At 17” wide and 10” deep, it’s large enough to serve as floor seating or a foot stool. (And if you have pets, I have a feeling they may want to make this their new favorite spot!)

Both Ryan and I were touched by the amount of people who have taken the time to email or comment. He is still nameless. We're working on it. Don't worry, this is normal for us. Also, I'm working on writing down his birth story.

Gwenny Penny: Adjustable Fleece Hat Tutorial When my four year old was about a year and a half old, my mother bought her an adjustable winter hat with a cord stop on the back to tighten or loosen the fit. She wore that hat all the time and was very sad when she outgrew it. For a couple of years I have been wanting to figure out a way to recreate that hat, and this month's Point of View theme, "gifts", finally gave me the motivation to sit down and get it done. The hat turned out to be very much like the original, but I added my own twist to dress it up :) Here is my project for the November Point of View reveal... My girls love them. They have been wearing them around the house for the last three days :)
